This research was focused on a novel entitled To Kill a Mockingbird, while the data were taken from both of the original novel and its translated version. Since the research was a qualitative study, the researcher applied a descriptive method. The answer to these research paper questions was found out by following several steps. First, the cultural words found in both of the novels were categorized based on the cultural words category as proposed by Newmark (1988). The second step was analyzing the whole words and the translation procedures of each cultural words category. The finding showed that 130 cultural words were found in the novel, and eight translation procedures were used to translate the cultural words, namely transference (36.15%), transposition (17.69%), cultural equivalent (15.38%), naturalization (11.53%), literal translation (10%), addition (7.69%), paraphrase (0.77%), and couplet (0.77%). Among the eight procedures, the most frequently used procedure in translating the cultural words was transference.
