Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran umum adversity quotient, gambaran umum motivasi, dan hubungan antara adversity quotient dengan motivasi. Motivasi dalam penelitian ini terdiri atas motivasi berprestasi, motivasi berafiliasi, dan motivasi berkuasa. Subjek dalam penelitian adalah 80 orang agen Prudential cabang Achmad Yani Bandung yang diambil dengan teknik simple random sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif dan teknik penelitian korelasional. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan gambaran adversity quotient secara umum berkategori sedang, gambaran motivasi secara umum berkategori rendah, dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan (r=0,66, sig.0,000<0,05) antara adversity quotient dengan motivasi. Hasil penelitian ini juga menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan (sig.0,000<0,05) antara adversity quotient dengan motivasi berprestasi, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan (sig.0,000<0,05) antara adversity quotient dengan motivasi berafiliasi, dan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan (sig.0,000<0,05) antara adversity quotient dengan motivasi berkuasa. Prudential cabang Achmad Yani diharapkan memasukkan penilaian tingkat adversity quotient ke dalam sistem penerimaan agen baru dan menumbuhkan motivasi dalam diri agen melalui pelatihan-pelatihan agen asuransi, terutama berkaitan dengan motivasi berprestasi. Sehingga para agen memiliki dorongan untuk mengembangkan semua kemampuan dan energinya demi mencapai prestasi kerja yang maksimal. The aim of this research was to describe adversity quotient, motivation, and the relationship between the adversity quotient with motivation. Motivation in this research consisted of achievement motivation, affiliation motivation, and power motivation. The participants of this research were 80 Prudential's agent. This research used quantitative approach with descriptive method and a correlational technique. The results shows that Prudential's agent has an average adversity quotient and low motivation, and significant relationship among adversity quotient with motivation (r=0,66, sig.0,000<0,05). This research also shows the significant relationship among adversity quotient with achievement motivation (sig.0,000<0,05), significant relationship among adversity quotient with affiliation motivation (sig.0,000<0,05), and significant relationship among adversity quotient with power motivation (sig.0,000<0,05). The advice of these research results, that the company expected to insert rating of adversity quotient into the system of recruitment and fosters the motivation within the agent through the training insurance agents, especially achievement motivation.
