PERAN BATALYON INFANTERI 328 TNI AD DALAM PENUMPASAN PEMBERONTAKAN DI INDONESIA TAHUN 1958 - 1969

Summary

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh ketertarikan penulis terhadap peran Batalyon 328 dalam penumpasan pemberontakan di Indonesia, yaitu DI/TII Jawa Barat, PRRI Sumatera dan Gerakan 30 September. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis peran Batalyon Infanteri 328 dalam peristiwa pemberontakan di Indonesia, meliputi awal mula keterlibatan dalam pemberontakan, operasi militer yang dilakukan untuk menumpas pemberontakan, hingga perkembangan Batalyon Infanteri 328 pasca penumpasan pemberontakan (1958 - 1969) yang didasarkan karena kurangnya literature sehingga belum banyak diketahui oleh masyarakat luas. Dalam tahap penyusunannya, penelitian ini menerapkan metode historis yang terdiri dari heuristik, kritik sumber/verifikasi, interpretasi dan historiografi. Melalui penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa Batalyon Infanteri 328 dibentuk pada 16 Mei 1958 yang ditujukan untuk menanggulangi pemasalahan DI/TII Jawa Barat. Dalam tugasnya Batalyon Infanteri 328 menggunakan operasi teritorial dan operasi penghancuran di Banten, operasi pagar betis di Bogor, operasi baratayudha di Gunung Geber yang berhasil menangkap Kartosuwiryo pada 4 Juni 1962. Selain itu Batalyon Infanteri 328 juga ikut serta dalam menumpas pemberontakan PRRI Sumatera melalui operasi teritorial setelah pemberontakan ini melewati berbagai macam penumpasan oleh gabungan TNI. Dalam melaksanakan tugas ini Batalyon Infanteri 328 berhasil menumpas sisa - sisa gerombolan PRRI. Peran lainnya terlihat dalam Gerakan 30 September, dimana Batalyon ini menjadi kompi yang bertugas untuk menumpas pemberontakan melalui tugas pengamanan, operasi gabungan dan operasi pembersihan gerakan G30S/PKI. Operasi militer yang dilakukan oleh Batalyon Infanteri 328 menjadi tanda keberhasilan dan tuntasnya penumpasan pemberontakan di Indonesia (1959 - 1969), kemudian setelah melakukan tugasnya Batalyon ini tergabung kedalam KOSTRAD pada tahun 1969. This research is motivated by the author's interest in the role of Battalion 328 in suppressing rebellion in Indonesia, namely DI/TII West Java, PRRI Sumatra and the September 30 Movement. This research aims to analyze the role of the 328th Infantry Battalion in the rebellion in Indonesia, including the beginning of involvement in the rebellion, military operations carried out to suppress the rebellion, to the development of the 328th Infantry Battalion after the suppression of the rebellion (1958 - 1969) which is based on a lack of literature so that it is not widely known by the wider community. In the preparation stage, this research applies the historical method which consists of heuristics, source criticism/verification, interpretation and historiography. Through this research, it can be seen that the 328th Infantry Battalion was formed on May 16, 1958 which was intended to overcome the DI/TII problem in West Java. In its duties, the 328th Infantry Battalion used territorial operations and destruction operations in Banten, posse operations in Bogor, baratayudha operations at Gunung Geber which succeeded in capturing Kartosuwiryo on June 4, 1962.In addition, the 328th Infantry Battalion also participated in suppressing the PRRI rebellion in Sumatra through territorial operations after this rebellion passed through various kinds of suppression by the combined TNI. In carrying out this task, the 328th Infantry Battalion succeeded in eliminating the remnants of the PRRI horde. Another role was seen in the September 30 Movement, where the Battalion became a company tasked with suppressing the rebellion through security tasks, joint operations and clearing operations of the G30S/PKI movement. The military operations carried out by the 328th Infantry Battalion marked the success and completion of the suppression of rebellion in Indonesia (1959 - 1969), then after performing its duties the Battalion was incorporated into KOSTRAD in 1969.
