Salah satu fenomena popular yang saat ini sedang banyak digandrungi adalah fenomena menggemari idola K-Pop atau yang lebih sering dikenal dengan hallyu. Banyak orang yang mengalami internet berlebih sehingga mengalami problematic internet use untuk mengetahui berbagai macam informasi seputar idolanya sehingga mereka tidak jarang menunda pekerjaan mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki hubungan antara celebrity worship dengan prokrastinasi akademik yang dimediasi problematic internet use pada mahasiswa penggemar K-Pop di Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional, untuk teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan convenience sampling dengan jumlah pastisipan 484 Mahasiswa jenjang S1. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk celebrity worship adalah Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS), lalu untuk problematic internet use menggunakan Generalized Problematic internet use Scale 2 (GPIUS2) dan untuk prokrastinasi akademik menggunakan Academic Procrastination Scale (APS). Hasil pengolahan menggunakan Rasch dan SPSS menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara celebrity worship dengan prokrastinasi akademik yang dimediasi problematic internet use. Hasil dari penelitian terbukti bahwa problematic internet use berhasil memediasi hubungan celebrity worship dan prokrastinasi akademik. Celebrity worship dan problematic internet use bersama-sama berkontribusi sebanyak 12,1% dalam prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia penggemar K-Pop. Procrastination is a behavior everyone does, including students. It is often found that students procrastinate on college assignments because of distractions, one of which is internet distraction. The internet is often called the window to the world because from the internet we can explore a lot of things the world offers. One of the most current popular phenomenons is the phenomenon of liking K-Pop idols or more commonly known as hallyu. Many people use the internet excessively, causing them to experience problematic internet use while browsing around details regarding the idols that they often procrastinate their task and assignments. This study aims to investigate the relationship between celebrity worship and academic procrastination mediated by problematic internet use in K-Pop fan students at Indonesia University of Education. The method used in the research is quantitative with a correlational design, for sampling techniques using convenience sampling with a total of 484 undergraduate students. The instrument used for celebrity worship is Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS), then for problematic internet use using Generalized Problematic internet use Scale 2 (GPIUS2) and for academic procrastination using Academic Procrastination Scale (APS). The processing results using Rasch and SPSS showed a relationship between celebrity worship and academic procrastination mediated by problematic internet use. The results of the study proved that problematic internet use successfully mediated the relationship between celebrity worship and academic procrastination. Celebrity worship and problematic internet used together contribute 12.1% to the academic procrastination of Indonesia University of Education students who are K-Pop fans. |
