Summary:The lack of Speech and language skill of hearing impairment children to get something and hard to express the desire, so it should be given intervention in speech and language for an early age is the background of the research. It's because the hearing impairment children do not have experience in both of speech and language understanding that make increasing of it are needed to develop optimally. Why is it important and should be increased? Because speech and language closely related to language comprehension that becomes the basic for further mastering capabilities. Parents are the main role for the successfull early intervention program of their childs. Many of them don't understand and lack of cognition to doing early intervention for speech and language skill to their childs, so it takes such kind of training program for parents to help out them to understand and do the early intervention program for their hearing impairment children. This study aims to formulate a parent training program to increase the understanding and skill to providing intervention to hearing impairment children. The subjects of the research is parents of aged five to six years old hearing impairment children who haven't had cognition and understanding of the child's hearing loss and intervention capabilities in terms of speech and language that need assistance in dealing with. The method used is a mix of methods to design exploratory mixed methods research design using qualitative stage, quantitative. The results showed an increase in parental understanding of the nature of deafness and speech and language development. The improvement seen by comparing the initial ability of parents before and after intervention using early intervention training program.
