EFEKTIVITAS PENGGUNAAN MEDIA TAYANGAN "SI BOLANG" TRANS7 DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MENULIS KARANGAN DESKRIPSI: PenelitiaTujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan siswa dalam menulis karangan deskripsi dengan menggunakan media film semidokumenter "Si Bolang" Trans7 dan tanpa menggunakan media film semidokumenter "Si Bolang" Trans7. "Si Bolang" merupakan film dokumenter per episode yang ditayangkan oleh sebuah stasiun televisi swasta yaitu Trans7. Penelitian ini menggunakan pretest-posttest one group design dengan rancangan prates dan pascates pada satu kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data prates dan pascates kelas eksperimen diperoleh nilai rata-rata siswa sebelum diberi perlakuan (prates) adalah 66,82, sedangkan nilai rata-rata siswa setelah diberi perlakuan (pascates) adalah 86,14. Kemudian, peneliti melakukan uji persyaratan data dengan dua tahap, yaitu uji normalitas dan uji hipotesis. Uji persyaratan data yang pertama adalah uji normalitas. Uji normalitas nilai prates dan pascates dihitung berdasarkan tabel nilai Skewness dan standar erornya. Uji Skewness pada hasil prates dinyatakan normal karena hasil perbandingan nilai Skewness dan standar erornya adalah 0,228 < 2 dan uji Skewness pada hasil pascates dinyatakan normal karena -2,98 < 2. Selain itu, uji normalitas dilihat berdasarkan hasil gambar histogram dan kurva normal. Berdasarkan grafik histogram dan kurva normal, bentuknya menyerupai bel shape, berarti distribusi normal. Secara keseluruhan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa data prates dan pascates memiliki distribusi normal. Uji persyaratan data yang kedua adalah uji hipotesis. Hipotesis yang diambil adalah Ho atau hipotesis nihil dan H1 atau hipotesis kerja. Berdasarkan penghitungan uji hipotesis Paired Samples T Test diperoleh thitung sebesar -6,553 sedangkan ttabel -2,08 atau thitung sebesar 6,553, sedangkan ttabel 2,08, maka thitung > ttabel. Artinya, H0 (hipotesis nihil) ditolak dan H1 (hipotesis kerja) diterima. Analisis ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media film semidokumenter "Si Bolang" Trans7 efektif meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi. Hasil perhitungan lainnya juga membuktikan bahwa perbandingan nilai probabilitas (Signifikansi 2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < α (0,05), sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Kesimpulannya adalah terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan menulis karangan deskripsi setelah diterapkannya penggunaan media film semidokumenter "Si Bolang" Trans7 dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi. Dengan kata lain, penggunaan media film semidokumenter "Si Bolang" Trans7 efektif meningkatkan kemampuan siswa dalam pembelajaran menulis karangan deskripsi. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is any significant difference between students' abilities in writing essay description using the medium of film documenter "Si Bolang" Trans7 and without the use of media documenter movie "The Bolang" Trans7. "The Bolang" is a documentary film per episode that aired by a private television station that Trans7. This study uses one-group pretest-posttest design with pre-test and post-test design in an experimental class. Based on the analysis of the pre-test and post-test experimental class earned an average score of students before being given treatment (pre-test) was 66.82, while the average student after given treatment (post-test) is 86.14. Then, the researchers conducted a test data requirements in two stages, namely normality and hypothesis testing. Test requirements are the first data normality test. Normality test for pre-test and post-test value is calculated based on the value of Skewness and standard tables erornya. Skewness test on pre-test results for the comparison of otherwise normal and standard erornya Skewness value is 0.228 <2 and the Skewness test post-test results revealed normal since -2.98 <2. In addition, the views based on the results of the normality test and normal curve image histogram. Based on the graph histogram and normal curve, its shape resembles a bell shape, meaning the normal distribution. Overall, it can be concluded that the pre-test and post-test data is normally distributed. The second test data requirements is hypothesis testing. Hypothesis is taken and the null hypothesis Ho or H1 or working hypothesis. Based on the calculation test hypotheses derived Paired Samples T Test tcount while ttable -2.08 -6.553 or t for 6,553, while ttable 2.08, then t> t table. That is, H0 (null hypothesis) is rejected and H1 (working hypothesis) is accepted. This analysis concluded that the use of the medium of film documenter "Si Bolang" Trans7 effectively improve the learning ability of students in essay writing descriptions. Results of other calculations also show that the ratio of the probability value (2-tailed significance) of 0.000 <α (0.05), so H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The conclusion is there a significant difference in the ability to write the essay's description after the implementation of the use of the medium of film documenter "Si Bolang" Trans7 in teaching essay writing descriptions. In other words, the use of media documenter movie "The Bolang" Trans7 effectively improve the learning ability of students in essay writing descriptions.
