520 |a This study, entitled "Politeness Politicians and Public Imperative in the text in the 2014 Presidential Election News News Site Rakyat Merdeka Online: An Assessment Sosiopragmatics". The purpose of this study to determine the classification and description of the meaning of imperatives sosiopragmatik, the frequency of occurrence of each meaning imperatives, a form of politeness, politeness strategies, and public response to the imperatives of politeness politicians and the public in the 2014 presidential election news text in Rakyat Merdeka Online news site. The approach used in this study was a descriptive approach with a qualitative analysis method. The data source of this study is the 2014 presidential election news contained in Rakyat Merdeka Online news website from the date of 19 May to 21 August 2014. The data collection techniques in the research done by the documentation. Based on the results of the study, found 12 types of meaning sosiopragmatics imperative in political speech and 9 kinds of meaning sosiopragmatics imperative in public speech. The highest frequency of occurrence in the speech of politicians is imperative insistence and suggestion sosiopragmatics meaning the number of 16,86%. The highest frequency in the speech community is imperative imperative suggestion sosiopragmatics meaning the amount of 25,64%. A form of politeness imperative dominated by politicians and public utterances expressed indirectly by using the modus declarative sentences and literal. Based on the politeness scale Leech, a form of politeness politicians and the public that contain low levels of politeness there are 5 types of meaning sosiopragmatics imperative, whereas high levels of politeness utterances of politicians are the 7 types of meaning sosiopragmatik imperatives and the public utterances contained in the 5 types of meaning sosiopragmatik imperative. Based threat advance, public response to the imperative utterances of politicians dominated the speech which threatens advance so as to contain low levels of politeness. In public response to the imperative public utterances, utterances that threaten face almost equal to the utterances that the other party save face, so it is quite polite
