520 | |a Berbagai tuntutan akademik di lingkungan sekolah yang sangat mempengaruhi prestasi akademiknya, sehingga cenderung menimbulkan dampak-dampak negatif, seperti : (1) merasa tidak bahagia, (2) mudah panik, (3) gelisah, (4) mudah marah, (5) cemas, (6) denyut jantung meningkat, (7) berpikir negatif, (8) mudah tersinggung, (9) prestasi menurun, (10) gugup, (11) takut, (12) berpikir menghadapi jalan buntu, (13) Jenuh/ merasa tidak menikmati hidup, (14) tubuh tidak mampu beristirahat dengan maksimal, (15) sulit mendisiplinkan diri, (16) tidak bisa menentukan prioritas hidup, (17) menyalahkan orang lain, (18) tidak merasakan kepuasaan, (19) mudah lupa, dan (20) merasa diabaikan, menjadi salah satu latar belakang dilakukannya penelitian. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran umum stres akademik peserta didik yang dijadikan landasan dalam pengembangan program bimbingan belajar. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 348 peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2013/2014. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan bahwa terdapat 2,58% siswa didik yang mengalami stres tingkat tinggi, 67,8% siswa mengalami stres tingkat sedang, dan 29,6% siswa mengalami stres tingkat rendah. Rekomendasi dari hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) bagi konselor berupa layanan dasar yang meliputi bimbingan klasikal dan bimbingan kelompok, (2) bagi peneliti selanjutnya diharapkan melakukan uji coba program, guna menguji efektivitas program bimbingan belajar untuk mereduksi stres akademik siswa. The phenomenon of students where they do not feel confident of their own academic potentials leading to negatif effects, namely: (1) feeling unhappy, (2) getting panic easily, (3) feeling anxious, (4) getting angry easily, (5) getting worried, (6) increasing heart beat, (7) thinking negatively, (8) getting offended, (9) decreasing academic achievements, (10) feeling nervous, (11) feeling scared, (12) facing a dead end, (13) getting bored of life, (14) getting restless, (15) prone to be lazy, (16) cannot make priorities in life, (17) blaming other people, (18) feeling unsatisfied with things, (19) bad at remembering things, and (20) feeling abandoned, becomes one of the reasons as to why this study was conducted. This study aims to find out the general description of academic stress of 348 seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Bandung Year 2013/2014. This study employs quantitative approach with descriptive method using questionnaires. It is concluded that there were 2.58% of students having high level of stress, 67.8% having mid-level of stress, and 29.6% having low level of stress. It recommended that: (1) counselors should provide basic service including classical guidance and group counseling, (2) future researchers should do testing programs to test the effectiveness of academic guidance program to reduce academic stress of students. | ||
