| Summary: | Research on the characteristics of the area in the town of Sawahlunto a tourist destination. Objective to analyze the characteristics of what is in the town of Sawahlunto tourism destination, knowing the existing tourist resources and how the efforts of the development of tourist attraction based on the characteristics of its territory. This research uses qualitative-verificative design and by the method of phenomenology and supported triangulation to determine the validity of the data. The characteristics of the Sawahlunto's region is different in each subdistrict, each characteristics in the subdistrict support tourism activities, so the Sawahlunto a tourist destination with many tourist attractions. Each area of Sawahlunto has the potential tourism to be a tourist attraction that should always be maintained and developed as well as in accordance with the characteristics of the region. Penelitian mengenai karakteristik wilayah Kota Sawahlunto sebagai daerah tujuan wisata. Tujuannya untuk menganalisis karakteristik apa yang ada pada daerah tujuan wisata kota Sawahlunto, mengetahui sumber daya wisata yang ada dan bagaimana upaya pengembangan daya tarik wisata berdasarkan karakteristik wilayahnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif verifikatif dengan metode fenomenologi dan didukung triangulasi data untuk mengetahui keabsahan data. Karakteristik Wilayah Kota Sawahlunto berbeda di setiap kecamatannya, setiap karakteristik yang ada di wilayah kecamatan mendukung kegiatan pariwisata, sehingga Sawahlunto menjadi daerah tujuan wisata dengan berbagai macam daya tarik wisata. Setiap wilayah di Sawahlunto memiliki potensi wisata berupa daya tarik wisata yang harus selalu dijaga dan dikembangkan serta dimanfaatkan sesuai dengan karakteristik wilayahnya. |
