Secara umum penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi kebiasaan menonton tayangan kekerasan di media televisi terhadap perilaku agresif pada siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 29 Bandung tahun ajaran 2014/2015. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode korelasi, metode ini digunakan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar kontribusi kebiasaan menonton tayangan kekerasan di media televisi terhadap perilaku agresif siswa. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 29 Bandung yaitu sejumlah 348 siswa. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan teknik simple random sampling pengambilan anggota sampel dari populasi dilakukan secara acak tanpa memperhatikan strata yang ada dalam populasi itu. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian sejumlah 139 siswa. Pada penelitian teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknis non-tes berupa angket yang mengungkap kebiasaan menonton tayangan kekerasan di media televisi dan perilaku agresif. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu: (1) Secara umum waktu yang dihabiskan siswa kelas VII SMP N 29 Bandung untuk menonton tayangan kekerasan di televisi sebanyak 70 responden (50%) termasuk dalam kategori rendah; (2) pemilihan program acara dan ketertarikan siswa kelas VII SMP N 29 Bandung untuk menonton tayangan kekerasan di televisi sebanyak 75 responden (53.6%) termasuk dalam kategori sedang; (3) untuk kecenderungan perilaku agresif yang dimiliki siswa kelas VII SMP N 29 Bandung sebanyak 77 responden (55%) termasuk dalam kategori perilaku agresif sedang (4) hasil korelasi yang didapat bahwa pemilihan program acara dan ketertarikan dalam kebiasaan menonton tayangan kekerasan di media televisi memberikan pengaruh terhadap meningkatnya kecenderungan perilaku agresif. Penelitian ini terbatas pada kontribusi kebiasaan menonton tayangan kekerasan di media televisi terhadap perilaku agresif. Peneliti selanjutnya dapat mencoba menggunakan teknik untuk mereduksi perilaku agresif. Kata Kunci: Kebiasaan Menonton Tayangan Kekerasan di Media Televisi, Perilaku Agresif. In general, this study aims to determine the contribution of the habit of watching violence on television media against aggressive behavior in class VII in SMP Negeri 29 Bandung academic year 2014/2015. The method used is the correlation method, this method is used to determine how much contribution the habit of watching violence on television media against aggressive behavior of students. The study population was all students of class VII SMP Negeri 29 Bandung, some 348 students. Research conducted using simple random sampling of members of the population sample was randomly without regard to strata that exist in the population. The sample used in the study a number of 139 students. In the research data collection techniques using non-test techniques in the form of a questionnaire that revealed the habit of watching violence on television and aggressive behavior. The results obtained are: (1) In general, the time spent seventh grade students of SMP N 29 Bandung to watch violence on television as much as 70 respondents (50%) included in the low category; (2) the selection of programs and interests of students of class VII SMP N 29 Bandung to watch violence on television as much as 75 respondents (53.6%) in medium category; (3) to the tendency of aggressive behavior of the students of class VII SMP N 29 Bandung total of 77 respondents (55%) are included in the category of aggressive behavior were (4) the correlation results were obtained that the selection of programs and interests in the habit of watching violence on television give effect to the increasing trend of aggressive behavior. This study is limited to the contribution habit of watching violence on television media against aggressive behavior. Researchers can then try to use techniques to reduce aggressive behavior.
