PROFIL BERPIKIR KRITIS DEDUKSI DAN PENINGKATAN PRESTASI BELAJAR SISWA KELAS VIII MATA PELAJARAN FISIKA MELALUI PENERAPAN MODEL PEMBELAJARAN PROBLEM POSING

Summary

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran tentang profil berpikir kritis deduksi siswa dan peningkatan hasil belajar siswa SMP kelas VIII mata pelajaran fisika melalui penerapan model pembelajaran problem posing. Hal ini dilatarbelakangi oleh metode pembelajaran yang digunakan masih berorientasi pada guru tanpa mengikutsertakan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, dimana aktivitas siswa hanya mencatat, mendengar, dan sedikit bertanya. Sedangkan mata pelajaran fisika merupakan mata pelajaran yang menuntut pemahaman, kritis, aktif dan perlunya penerapan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian one pretest posttest group design. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 36 siswa di salah satu SMP di Kota Bandung. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengambilan data adalah Cornell Critical Thinking Test Level X dan tes prestasi hasil belajar. Cornell Critical Thinking Test Level X diperoleh dengan menghitung skor dan tes prestasi hasil belajar siswa diindikasikan oleh rata-rata skor gain yang dinormalisasi <g>. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa profil kemampuan berpikir kritis deduksi siswa kelas VIII pada mata pelajaran fisika terdapat 11 siswa pada kategori rendah, 21 siswa pada kategori sedang dan 4 siswa pada kategori tinggi. Sedangkan pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran problem posing pada hasil belajar siswa secara umum meningkat. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa sebesar 0,59 dengan kategori peningkatan sedang. Kata Kunci: problem posing, prestasi belajar, berpikir kritis. The purpose of this study is to get profile of 8th grade students' deduction critical thinking and concept achievement on physics course through implementation of problem posing model. Most of learning methods which still used are teacher centered model. This model involves students' activity in learning process, such as record, hear and ask. Meanwhile physics is one of subject that students should have whole understanding, critical, active and apply it in everyday life. Research methodology of this study is quasi-experimental research design with one group pretest posttest design. Research subject involved are 36 students in one of junior high school in Bandung. Instrument used in this study is Cornell Critical Thinking Test Level X and test achievement of learning outcomes. By using Cornell Critical Thinking Test Level X, research obtained achievement scores for learning outcome indicated by average score are normalized gain <g>. The result showed that 8th grade students deduction critical thinking profile there are 11 students in the low category, 21 students in moderate category, and 4 students in high category. Meanwhile influence of problem posing learning model application on students' learning outcomes commonly increased. The improvement of students' learning outcomes in the amount of 0,59 as a moderate category. Keywords: problem posing, student achievement, critical thinking.
