Summary:Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan siswa dalam menemukan ide cerita dalam menulis cerpen. Selain itu, pembelajaran menulis di sekolah umumnya berfokus pada teori, bukan praktik. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu (1) mendeskripsikan profil pembelajaran menulis cerpen siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Cimahi, (2) mendeskripsikan proses pembelajaran menulis cerpen melalui model transformasi lirik lagu naratif, dan (3) membuktikan perbedaan kemampuan menulis cerpen sebelum dengan sesudah diberi perlakuan melalui model transformasi lirik lagu naratif. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen kuasi. Tahapan model transformasi lirik lagu naratif adalah (1) pengenalan karya, (2) mengapresiasi teks hipogram, (3) kolaborasi kreasi transformasi teks, (4) sharing, (5) revisi & penyuntingan, dan (6) publikasi hasil. Nilai rata-rata tes awal siswa di kelas eksperimen sebesar 79,96 dan tes akhir sebesar 87,35. Nilai rata-rata tes awal kelas kontrol sebesar 80,20 dan tes akhir sebesar 83,47. Uji hipotesis dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% dan derajat kebebasan (dk)= 64 diperoleh hasil thitung (2,08) ≥ ttabel (1,9987). Dapat disimpulkan Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Hal ini menunjukkan model transformasi lirik lagu naratif dalam pembelajaran menulis cerpen terbukti efektif. Kata kunci: model transformasi lirik lagu naratif, pembelajaran menulis cerpen. This research based on the difficulties faced by students in searching for ideas when writing short story. Moreover, teaching and learning process at junior high school commonly focuses on learning theoretically, not practically. Specifically, the purposes of this study are (1) to describe the profile of teaching writing short story at 7th grade of Junior High School of 1 Cimahi, (2) to describe the process of teaching writing short story through narrative song lyric transformation, and (3) to prove the ability differences between before and after the implementation of narrative song lyric transformation model. Method used in this study is quasi experimental method with pretest-posttest control group design. Phase of narrative song lyric transformation model are: (1) work introducing, (2) hypogram text appreciating, (3) colaboration of transformation text creation, (4) sharing, (5) revision & editing, and (6) result publication. Based on the research result, the mean of the first test is 79,96 categorized as average and the last test is 87,35 considered good. Hypothesis test with 95% reliability and degree of freedom (df)= 64 obtainedttable result that amounts to 1,9987 with tcountwhich amounts to 2,08 or tcount(2,08) ≥ ttable(1,9987). In short, it can be concluded that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The result shows that narrative song lyric transformations effective to be implemented in teaching writing short story.
