Penelitian ini berjudul "Analisis Bentuk Kohesi dan Koherensi dalam Wacana Pada Buku Teks Jokyuu Dokkai I JPBJ UPI". Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang upaya-upaya pertautan wacana yang terdiri dari aspek kohesi yang berhubungan dengan bentuk bahasa dan aspek koherensi yang berhubungan dengan makna bahasa. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini diformulasikan ke dalam tiga pertanyaan penelitian: (1) Bagaimana wujud dan fungsi penanda kohesi yang tampak dalam wacana buku teks Jokyuu Dokkai I?; (2) Bagaimana wujud dan fungsi penanda koherensi yang tampak dalam wacana buku teks Jokyuu Dokkai 1?; (3) Bagaimana peranan penanda kohesi-koherensi wacana sebagai bahan ajar Jokyuu Dokkai I? Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Untuk dapat menjawab pertanyaan-pertanyaan penelitian yang diajukan, penulis menggunakan teori pendekatan analisis wacana. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wacana-wacana yang ada dalam buku teks Jokyuu Dokkai I. Buku teks ini merupakan bahan ajar membaca pemahaman untuk mahasiswa JPBJ UPI Semester V. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Dari keseluruhan jumlah wacana yang dianalisis ditemukan empat bentuk kohesi gramatikal (pengacuan, substitusi, elipsis, dan perangkaian) dan empat bentuk kohesi leksikal (pengulangan, sinonim, hiponim, dan meronim). (2) Dari keseluruhan jumlah wacana yang dianalisis ditemukan tujuh jenis penanda koherensi, yaitu kausalitas, kontras, aditif, rincian, temporal, perian, dan kronologis. (3) Secara keseluruhan, unsur-unsur kohesi dan koherensi yang ditemukan dalam wacana dipahami sebagai upaya untuk mempermudah pemahaman wacana. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa wacana-wacana Jokyuu Dokkai I cenderung banyak mengandung unsur pengacuan (referensi), pengulangan (repetisi), serta hubungan makna kontras dan temporal. Unsur-unsur tersebut digunakan sebagai upaya penulis untuk mengkonstruksi wacana yang mudah dipahami oleh pembaca (pembelajar). ---------- This study is entitled "Analysis of Cohesion and Coherence within Texts in JokyuuDokkai I JPBJ UPI". It discusses about the linkage within text including cohesion that is related to language form and coherence that is related to language meaning. The problems of the study are formulated into three research questions: (1) How are the form and the function of the sign of cohesion that appear in the text from Jokyuu Dokkai I?; (2) How are the form and the function of the sign of coherence that appear in the text from Jokyuu Dokkai I?; (3) How are the roles of the sign of cohesion and coherence as JokyuuDokkai I teaching media? This study uses qualitative-descriptive approach. To answer the research questions, the researcher uses theory of text analysis approach (Halliday and Hasan, 1976). The data used in this study is the texts from Jokyuu Dokkai I textbook. This textbook is the teaching media of comprehensive reading for students of JPBJ UPI in the fifth semester. The results of the analysis show that: (1) From all the texts that have been analyzed, there are four forms of grammatical cohesion (reference, substitution, ellipsis, and conjunction) and four forms of lexical cohesion (repetition, synonymy, hyponymy, and meronymy); (2) There are seven types of coherence signs found from all the texts that have been analyzed: causality, contrast, additive, detail, temporal, description, and chronology; (3) In total, the elements of cohesion and coherence found from the texts mean to make them easier to comprehend. It can be concluded that the texts in Jokyuu Dokkai I tend to have reference element, repetition, and contrast and temporal as meaning connection. The elements are used by the researcher to construct the texts to become easier for the readers (students) to comprehend.
