Penyakit diabetes mellitus adalah salah satu penyakit tidak menular, penyakit diabetes mellitus di Indonesia menduduki urutan ketujuh, sebagian besar penyandang diabetes di Indonesia adalah kelompok diabetes mellitus type II yaitu lebih dari 90% dari seluruh populasi diabetes. Dalam penanggulangan diabetes mellitus, klien diabetes mellitus harus memiliki pengetahuan tentang diabetes mellitus yang baik dan akhirnya dapat mencegah klien diabetes mellitus dari komplikasi lebih lanjut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan klien tentang diabetes mellitus type II. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan rancangan penelitian cross sectional, menggunakan teknik total sampling yang berjumlah 54 responden. Alat ukur penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuesioner tentang diabetes mellitus dengan 20 butir soal. Analisis data menggunakan univariat berupa tabel frekuensi. Hasil penelitian didapatkan bahwa sebagian besar responden 31 orang (57,41%) memiliki tingkat pengetahuan cukup, hampir setengahnya yaitu 19 orang (35,19%) memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang baik, dan sebagian kecil yaitu 4 orang (7,41%) memiliki tingkat pengetahuan kurang. Rekomendasi ditujukan kepada Puskesmas Padasuka dalam meningkatkan pelayanan kesehatan melalui pendidikan kesehatan tentang diabetes mellitus kepada klien diabetes mellitus secara berkala. ; Diabetes Mellitus is one of the non-contagious disease. Diabetes Mellitus occupies the 7th rank of disease in Indonesia, most of the people with diabetes in Indonesia are the ones who belong to type II diabetes mellitus for over 90% from the whole population of diabetes. Diabetes in the countermeasuring, the clients of diabetes mellitus are required to have the well knowledge about diabetes mellitus and finally could prevent the clients from having further complication. The aim of the research is to determine the overview of client's knowledge regarding type II diabetes mellitus. This research uses a descriptive research method with a cross sectional research design, using a total sampling methods consists of 54 respondents. The measuring instrument used is a questionnaire about diabetes mellitus consists of 20 questions. The data analysis uses univariat in form of a frequency table. The result of the research is concluded that most of the respondents, 31 respondents (57,41%) have an adequate level of knowledge, almost half of the respondents, 19 person (35,19%) have a good level of knowledge and the rest of them, therefore 4 person (7,41%) have a poor level of knowledge. Therefore, recommendation for the community health center in Padasuka to escalate and upgrade the health service trough healt education about diabetes mellitus in regullary times to the clients.
