Summary:Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh beberapa permasalahan yang ditemukan dalam pembelajaran IPS yaitu oleh rendahnya aktivitas belajar siswa. Hal ini ditandai dengan siswa kurang memperhatikan guru ketika kegiatan belajar mengajar berlangsung dan banyaknya siswa melakukan aktivitas di luar pembelajaran. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Course Review Horay dan peningkatan aktivitas belajar siswa kelas V SD dalam pembelajaran IPS. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas yang diadaptasi dari Kemmis Mc Taggart, serta dirancang dan dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian, siswa kelas V SD, dengan jumlah siswa 27 orang yang terdiri dari 11 laki-laki dan 14 perempuan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan menggunakan lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, dan lembar aktivitas belajar siswa. Adapun hasil penelitian terhadap aktivitas belajar siswa dengan menerapkan model Course Review Horay telah menunjukkan peningkatan, yaitu pada siklus I aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran dari sembilan indicator sebesar 49%, dan siklus II 72%. Dari hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Course Review Horay dapat meningkatan keaktifan siswa pada pembelajaran IPS di kelas V sekolah dasar. ; The background of this research is some problems that found in IPS learning such as the low activities of student in class. That case characterized by the less attention of student when the learning activities take place, beside they do a lot of thing except learning. The goal of this research is to cognizant the implementation of Course Review Horray type of Cooperative Learning method and the improvement of the fifth grade students of elementary school activities on IPS learning. The method of this Research is Classroom Action Research which was adapated from Kemmis Mc. Taggart, designed and implemented in two cycles. The subject of this research, students of fitfh grade of elementary school, they are 27 students, consisting of 11 men and 14 women. Data collection techniques were performed using observation sheets, field notes and student activity sheets. This Research, implementation of Course Review Horray type of Cooperative Learning method and the improvement of the fifth grade students of elementary school activities on IPS learning, was effected the student activities in class. It showed by the fact that the first cycle of students activity in the learning of the nine indicators by 49% and 72% in the second cycle. From these results, it can be concluded that Course Review Horray learning model can improve student activity in IPS learning in the fifth grade of elementary school.
