Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan belum optimalnya penggunaan alat praktik pada mata pelajaran Pemeliharaan Mesin Sepeda Motor kelas XI di SMKN 8 Bandung. Penelitian ini memiliki peranan penting untuk mengetahui sejauh mana kemampuan sekolah menyediakan alat praktik untuk melayani siswa agar memiliki kompetensi keahlian sesuai dengan yang diharapkan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang jumlah dan jenis alat, efisiensi penggunaan masing-masing alat yang selama ini digunakan pada mata pelajaran Pemeliharaan Mesin Sepeda Motor di kelas XI, upaya yang harus dilakukan untuk mengoptimalkan fasilitas alat praktik untuk mencapai tuntutan kompetensi pada mata pelajaran Pemeliharaan Mesin Sepeda Motor di kelas XI. Sehingga nilai efisiensi penggunaannya menjadi lebih efisien. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan instrumen wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi. Temuan penelitian terdapat lima jenis job yang harus diselesaikan siswa pada mata pelajaran Pemeliharaan Mesin Sepeda Motor kelas XI. Ada 41 jenis alat dengan jumlah bervariasi. Nilai efisiensi penggunaan alat kerja praktik dari 41 jenis alat tersebut yaitu 60%, maka penggunaan alat praktik tidak efisien karena jumlah alat berlebih dalam artian tidak digunakan. Setelah dioptimalkan maka nilai efisiensinya menjadi 87%, maka penggunaan alat praktik menjadi efisien.; This research has not been effected by the optimal use of practice on subjects Maintenance Motorcycle Engines of class XI in 8 Vocational High School Bandung. This research has an important role to find out the extent to which the school provides the capability of the practice to serve the students in order to have competency skills as expected. The purpose of this research is to obtain information about the amount and type of tool, the efficiency of the use of each tool that is used on the subjects of the Maintenance Of Motorcycle Engine in class XI, efforts should be made to optimize the facilities to achive practice tool demands competence on subject the Maintenance Of Motorcycle Engine in class XI. So the value of the efficiency of its use to become more efficient. This research uses descriptive research methode with instrument documentation, interviews and observations. Research finding there are five types of job to be completed students on subjects Maintenance Motorcycle Engines of Class XI. There are 41 kinds of tools with the amount varies. The value of efficiency of use of work practice of 41 types of such equipment that is 60%, then the use of inefficient practices because the amount of excess tool in terms of are not used. Afterthe value of optimized efficiency be 87%, then use the tool into practice efficiently.
