Summary

Penelitian ini berjudul "Profil Model Mental Siswa Terkait Materi Kimia Kelas X Berdasarkan KTSP 2006". Subjek pada penelitian ini adalah enam orang siswa kelas X di salah satu SMA Negeri Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil model mental siswa pada materi model atom Bohr, ikatan kimia, serta larutan non elektrolit dan elektrolit. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan instrumen utama pedoman Wawancara Berbasis Model (WBM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada ketiga materi tidak ada siswa yang memiliki model mental tipe 1 (siswa menjawab salah), namun didominasi oleh model mental tipe 2, yaitu menjawab benar dengan bantuan model. Pada materi ikatan kimia serta larutan non elektrolit dan elektrolit ada beberapa siswa yang memiliki model mental tipe 3 (siswa menjawab benar tanpa bantuan model). Pada penelitian ini juga ditemukan beberapa pola jawaban siswa yang berbeda yaitu, enam pola untuk model atom Bohr dan ikatan kovalen, lima pola untuk ikatan ion dan tiga pola untuk larutan non elektrolit dan elektrolit. Kata kunci : Profil, Model Mental, WBM The title of this research is "Profile of Students' Mental Model on Chemistry in X Grade Base on KTSP 2006". Subjects of this research were six students of X grade in senior high school Bandung. Purpose of this research is to find profile of students' mental models on Bohr's atomic theory, chemical bonding, non electrolyte and electrolyte solutions. This research used descriptive method with interview guide base on models (WBM) as instrument. The results showed that no students have mental model like type 1 (students answer incorrectly) in all of concept in this research, but dominated by type 2 (students answered correctly with model). On the concept of chemical bonding and non electrolyte and electrolyte solution, there are several students who have mental model like type 3 (students answered correctly without model). In this research also found six different patternts in Bohr's atomic theory and chemical bonding, five different patternts in ionic bonding, and three different patternts in non electrolyte and electrolyte.
