Seiring dengan pesatnya laju pertumbuhan infrastruktur jalan dan kendaraan, ternyata aspek lain yang juga tumbuh pesat yaitu kasus pencurian kendaraan bermotor. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dari Satlantas Polrestabes Bandung setiap tahunnya kasus pencurian kendaraan bermotor di kota - kota besar selalu tinggi. Tentunya aspek tersebut menjadi hal yang harus digarisbawahi terutama para pemilik kendaraan bermotor. Banyak cara yang dilakukan pemilik kendaraan bermotor untuk mencegah terjadinya tindak pencurian. Salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan teknologi, yaitu Vehicle Tracking System. Vehicle Tracking System atau sistem pemantauan kendaraan menggunakan tiga teknologi yang berkembang pesat saat ini, yaitu Teknologi Sistem Informasi Geografis, Global Positiong System (GPS), dan GSM. Pada penelitian ini penulis terfokus pada visualisasi atau monitoring pada kendaraan yang menggunakan perangkat GPS. Perangkat GPS terhubung dengan server tertentu, sehingga data tiap waktunya akan terus dikirim. Data - data yang telah terkumpul di server kemudian diolah untuk ditampilkan dengan menggunakan Google Maps API. Sehingga menghasilkan sebuah informasi yang bermanfaat bagi penggunanya. ; Along with the rapid growth rate of road infrastructure and vehicles, was another aspect which is also growing rapidly in the case of motor vehicle theft. Based on data obtained from the Traffic Polrestabes Bandung each year motor vehicle theft cases in the city - a big city is always high. Obviously these aspects into something that must be underlined especially the owners of motor vehicles. Many ways in which the vehicle owners to prevent theft. One of them with the use of technology, namely Vehicle Tracking System. Vehicle Tracking System or vehicle monitoring system using three rapidly evolving technologies today, namely Technology Geographic Information Systems, Global Positiong System (GPS) and GSM. In this study, the authors focused on the visualization or monitoring of vehicles using GPS devices. The GPS device is connected to a particular server, so every time the data will continue to be sent. The data - collected data on the server and then processed for display by using the Google Maps API. Thus producing a useful information for its users.
