Summary:Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan siswa dalam menyimak dongeng. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) mengetahui kemampuan menyimak dongeng di kelas kesperimen sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan teknik dictogloss; 2) mengetahui kemampan menyimak dongeng di kelas pembanding sebelum dan sesudah pembelajaran terlangsung; 3) mengetahui perbedaan kemamupuan siswa antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas pembanding. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment atau eksperimen kuasi dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Sampel dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari dua kelompok, yang terdiri 30 orang kelompok eksperimen dan 30 orang kelompok pembanding yang diambil secara purposive sampling. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam tiga tahap, yaitu tahap prates, tahap perlakuan, dan tahap pascates. Dari hasil analisis data, nilai rata-rata tes awal kemampuan menyimak dongeng dikelas eksperimen adalah sebesar 50 dan dikelas pembanding 42. Hasil rata-rata pascates di kelas eksperimen 78 dan di 62 dikelas pembanding. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan dalam pembelajaran menyimak dongeng. Berdasarkan uji hipotesis, diperoleh thitung sebesar 5,017 dan ttabel dengan menggunakan derajat kebebasan 58 dan taraf kepercayaan 95% diketahui ttabel yaitu 1,672. Maka dapat diketahui bahwa thitung > ttabel atau 5,017 > 1,672. Dengan demikian, teknik dictogloss efektif digunakan dalam pembelajaran menyimak dongeng. ---; The reason of the study was encouraged by the students' difficulty in listening to the fairytale's subject. Moreover, this study aims to: 1) to know the result and difference of students' ability in Fairytale Listening in the experimental class before and after applying the dictogloss method; 2) to know the ability of Fairytale Listening in comparison class before and after the subject has been conducted; 3) to know the difference of students' ability who have included in experimental and comparison class. In addition, the quasi-experimental research was used to support the study with the use of non-equivalent control group design. The details of the samples which are involved in this study were divided into two groups: 30 samples of experimental group and 30 samples of comparison group. Furthermore, these groups were taken by the purposive sampling method. The study itself was consisted of three stages: pre-test, in-test treatment, and post-test. According to the result of the study, the pre-test average score of students' ability in Fairytale Listening subject included in experimental class were 50 while the students in comparison class were only 42. The next test, which was the post-test, gave the different result: experimental class' average score is 78 while comparison class' average score is 62. Henceforth, the result of the study indicates that there is a significant difference in Fairytale Listening Subject. To emphasize the result, the tcount obtained is 5,017 while the ttable by the use of degrees of freedom approximately 58 and significance level 95% is 1,672. Thus, it is determined that tcount > ttable or 5,017 > 1,672. To conclude, the dictogloss method is effective to be implemented in Fairytale Listening Subject
