Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan siswa dalam menulis huruf abjad bahasa Arab. Peranan pembelajaran menulis sangat penting, terutama menulis permulaan (handwriting). Karena menulis permulaan merupakan langkah awal seorang anak belajar menulis. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa karakteristik kesulitan siswa dalam menulis huruf abjad bahasa Arab adalah ukuran dan bentuk huruf dalam tulisan terlalu besar dan terlalu kecil, huruf tidak terbaca, terlalu lambat dalam menulis, dan tidak dapat mengikuti garis horizontal. Selanjutnya untuk huruf yang dianggap sulit dalm penulisannya yaitu huruf س, ش, ص, ض, ر, ز, ف, ق, ل, م, ن, و . Adapun faktor-faktor kesulitan siswa dalam menulis huruf abjad bahasa Arab adalah faktor internal yaitu pengalaman belajar bahasa Arab siswa yang rendah yang ditandai dengan siswa tidak hafal huruf-huruf abjad arab, minat dan motivasi yang dimiliki para siswa yang masih rendah. Faktor eksternal yaitu faktor guru yang meliputi metode pembelajaran yang kurang menyenangkan, media pembelajaran yang digunakan guru kurang bervariatif, dan buku teks yang kurang ketersediaannya. ---; This research is motivated by a student's difficulties in writing the Arabic alphabet. The role of learning to write is very important, especially writing starters (handwriting). Because writing the beginning of the first step of a child learning to write. Results of the study revealed that the characteristics of student difficulties in writing the Arabic alphabet in class VII SMPI Miftahul Iman Bandung 2015/2016 school year is the size and shape of the letters in the text is too large and too small , unreadable letters , too slow in writing , and can't follow the horizontal line. The next to the letters that are considered difficult preformance of Writing the letter .س , ش , ص , ض , ر , ز , ف , ق , ل , م , ن As for the factors of student difficulties in writing the Arabic alphabet in class VII SMPI Miftahul Iman Bandung 2015/2016 school year is the internal factors are Arabic language learning experience of students are low marked with the student does'n memorize the letters of the alphabet arabic , interest and motivation of the students is still low. External factors are factors of teachers that includes learning methods that are less fun, instructional media used by teachers less varied and less availability of text books.
