Kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis merupakan suatu kemampuan yang mendasar untuk mencapai pembelajaran yang mendalam dan bermakna. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dan mendeskripsikan perkembangan proses pembelajaran Matematika dengan menerapkan model Problem Based Learning. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart. Subjek penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas V disalah satu Sekolah Dasar di Kota Bandung yang berjumlah 23 siswa, terdiri dari 17 siswa laki-laki dan 6 siswa perempuan dimana siswa tersebut memiliki kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis yang rendah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa, pada siklus I diperoleh rata-rata dengan skor keseluruhan siswa 55,65 dengan ketuntasan belajar siswa 43% dan klasifikasi tingkat keberhasilan siswa yang rendah. Sementara pada siklus II diperoleh rata-rata skor keberhasilan siswa 64,34 dengan ketuntasan belajar seluruh siswa 74% dan klasifikasi belajar siswa pada tingkat sedang. ; The ability of understanding mathematical concepts is a fundamental ability in achieving the deep and meaningful learning process. The purpose of this research is to increase the students' understanding of mathematical concepts and to describe the development process of learning mathematics by applying the model of Problem Based Learning. This research is a classroom action research using the model of Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The subject of this research is fifth grade students of an elementary school in Bandung, which has 23 students, consist of 17 boys and 6 girls where the students' ability in understanding mathematical concepts is considered low. The results shows the increase of students' understanding in mathematical concepts, in first cycle the average score of students is 55.65 with the overall accomplishment of students' learning process 43% of the level of the classification of the success is considered low. While on the second cycle the average score of students is 64.34 with the overall accomplishment of students' learning process 74% and of the level of the classification of the success is considered a medium level.
