Secara lebih khusus rumusan masalah terdiri dari 1) Apakah terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang signifikan pada aspek memberikan penjelasan sederhana (elementary clarification) antara sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) pada mata pelajaran IPA di SMPN 1 Bandung? 2) Apakah terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang signifikan pada aspek membangun keterampilan dasar (basic support) antara sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) pada mata pelajaran IPA di SMPN 1 Bandung? 3) Apakah terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang signifikan pada aspek membuat kesimpulan (Inference) antara sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) pada mata pelajaran IPA di SMPN 1 Bandung? 4) Apakah terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang signifikan pada aspek membuat penjelasan lanjut (advance clarification) antara sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) pada mata pelajaran IPA di SMPN 1 Bandung? 5) Apakah terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa yang signifikan pada aspek strategi dan taktik (strategies and tactics) antara sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) pada mata pelajaran IPA di SMPN 1 Bandung? Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian Time Series Design. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes berbentuk uraian. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Cluster Sampling. Hasil penelitian secara umum menujukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Search, Solve, Create and Share (SSCS) efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA di kelas VIII SMPN 1 Bandung. Hal ini ditunjukan dengan adanya peningkatan hasil tes kemampuan berpikir kritis yang signifikan antara sebelum diterapkan model pembelajaran SSCS (pretest) dan sesudah diterapkan model pembelajaran SSCS (posttest). ;---The main issue of this research is "How does the effectiveness of using Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model toward the improvement of student's critical thinking skills in science subject at SMPN 1 Bandung?". More specifically, the research problems consist of 1) Is there any improvement in student's critical thinking skills significantly in give a simple explanation (elementary clarification) aspects between before and after applied Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model in science subject at SMPN 1 Bandung? 2) Is there any improvement in student's critical thinking skills significantly in building basic skills (basic support) aspects between before and after applied Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model in science subject at SMPN 1 Bandung? 3) Is there any improvement in student's critical thinking skills significantly in making conclusions (Inference) aspects between before and after applied Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model in science subject at SMPN 1 Bandung? 4) Is there any improvement in student's critical thinking skills significantly in making further explanation (advance clarification) aspects between before and after applied Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model in science subject at SMPN 1 Bandung? 5) Is there any improvement in student's critical thinking skills significantly in strategies and tactics aspects between before and after applied Search, Solve, Create, and Share (SSCS) learning model in science subject at SMPN 1 Bandung? The method used in this research is quasi-experimental method with Time Series Design. Instrument used in this research is an essay test. The sampling technique in this research using Cluster Sampling. The general result of the research shows that the application of Search, Solve, Create and Share (SSCS) learning model effectively used to improve students' critical thinking skills in science subjects at 8th grade students SMPN 1 Bandung. This is evidenced by an increase in critical thinking skills test results were significant between before applied learning model SSCS (pretest) and after applied learning models SSCS (posttest).
