PENGARUH PERSONAL VALUE TERHADAP PRASANGKA SEKSUAL PADA MAHASISWA DI KOTA BANDUNG

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh personal value terhadap prasangka seksual pada mahasiswa di Kota Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 400 responden yang dipilih menggunakan teknik convenience sampling. Kuesioner terdiri dari skala personal value yang peneliti adaptasi dari Portrait Values Questionnaire (PVQ-40) yang disusun oleh Schwartz (2003) dan skala prasangka seksual yang juga peneliti adaptasi dari Homosexuality Attitude Scale (HAS) yang disusun oleh Kite & Deaux (1986). Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik korelasi Multiple Regression. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh personal value terhadap prasangka seksual dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0.388, dengan demikian, variasi prasangka seksual dipengaruhi oleh personal value dengan koefisien determinasi sebesar 15% (r2 = 0.150), sedangkan 85% nya dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain. Kemudian, ditemukan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara gender terhadap tingkat prasangka seksual. Kata kunci: Personal value, Prasangka seksual, Homoseksualitas Abstract: This study is aimed to identify the influence between personal values toward sexual prejudice among undergraduate students in Bandung. Convenience sampling method with 400 subjects was employed as a technique used in this quantitative study. The questionnaire consisted of personal value scale adapted from Portrait Values Questionnaire (PVQ-40) by Schwartz (2003) and sexual prejudice scale adapted from Homosexuality Attitude Scale (HAS) by Kite & Deaux (1986). The data analysis used in this research is Multiple Regression correlation technique. Results of this study show influence between personal values toward sexual prejudice with coefficient correlation of 0.388, thereby, sexual prejudice variation explained by personal value are 15% (r2 = 0.150), meanwhile, the other 85% are explained by other factors. Then, it was found that there was a significant difference from gender toward sexual prejudice. Keywords: Personal value, Sexual prejudice, Homosexuality.
