Penelitian ini berawal dari permasalahan hasil belajar yang kurang baik yang disebabkan oleh tanda-tanda rendahnya motivasi belajar siswa yaitu siswa yang jarang hadir di sekolah, tidak mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan oleh guru, nilai harian yang kecil dan sebagainya. Atas dasar permasalahan tersebut, peneliti melakukan penelitian dengan tujuan mengetahui gambaran motivasi intrinsik dan motivasi ekstrinsik serta motivasi dominan pada motivasi belajar siswa kelas X TKR SMKN 8 Bandung dalam mengikuti mata pelajaran pekerjaan dasar teknik otomotif. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian jenis deskriptif yang menggunakan metode survei yang akan memberikan gambaran motivasi belajar siswa kelas X TKR SMKN 8 Bandung dalam mengikuti mata pelajaran pekerjaan dasar teknik otomotif. Populasi seluruh siswa kelas X TKR yang berjumlah 268 siswa dan sampel sebanyak 73 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket dengan skala Likert yang terdiri dari 26 butir pernyataan yang terbagi menjadi 13 butir pernyataan untuk motivasi intrinsik dan 13 butir pernyataan untuk motivasi ekstrinsik. Tingkat reliabilitas instrumen 0,673 dan pengujian validitas melalui expert judgment. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yitu analisis deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh motivasi intrinsik sebesar 79,43 % ini menunjukkan motivasi intrinsik siswa kelas X TKR SMKN 8 Bandung termasuk kategori tinggi dalam mengikuti mata pelajaran pekerjaan dasar teknik otomotif. motivasi Ekstrinsik sebesar 76,75 % ini menunjukkan motivasi ekstrinsik siswa kelas X TKR SMKN 8 Bandung termasuk kategori tinggi dalam mengikuti mata pelajaran pekerjaan dasar teknik. Terakhir tidak ada motivasi dominan pada motivasi belajar siswa karena motivasi intrinsik dan motivasi ekstrinsik memiliki rata-rata persentase yang seimbang atau sama besar. On the basis of these problems, researchers conducted a study with the aim know the description of intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation as well as the dominant motivation in class X student motivation TKR National Vocational School 8 Bandung in following subjects of the basic work of automotive engineering. This research is a kind of descriptive survey method that will provide a class X student motivation TKR National Vocational School 8 Bandung in following subjects of the basic work of automotive engineering. The population of the entire class X TKR totaling 268 students and a sample of 73 students. The instrument used was a questionnaire with Likert scale consisting of a 26-point declaration is divided into 13-point declaration for intrinsic motivation and the 13-point declaration to extrinsic motivation. The level of reliability and validity testing instrument 0.673 through expert judgment. Data analysis techniques used yitu quantitative descriptive analysis. The results obtained by the intrinsic motivation of 79.43% indicates intrinsic motivation of students of class X TKR National Vocational School 8 Bandung categorized as high in subjects following the basic work of automotive engineering. Extrinsic motivation of 76.75% indicates extrinsic motivation of students of class X TKR National Vocational School 8 Bandung categorized as high in subjects following the basic work techniques. Lastly there is no dominant motivation in students' motivation for intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation has an average percentage of balanced or equal.
