Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat risiko pembiayaan, tingkat profitabilitas, dan pengaruh risiko pembiayaan terhadap profitabilitas yang dimoderasi oleh fee based income. Data pada penelitian ini berasal dari laporan bank umum syariah (BUS) di Indonesia periode 2011-2015. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa secara rata-rata, tingkat risiko pembiayaan BUS di Indonesia periode 2011-2015 masih dalam batas normal, sedangkan tingkat profitabilitas BUS di Indonesia periode 2011-2015 tergolong rendah. Dengan menggunakan regresi linear dan Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA), penelitian ini memperoleh hasil bahwa NPF sebagai indikator risiko pembiayaan berpengaruh terhadap ROA dan ROE sebagai indikator profitabilitas BUS. Hasil dari penelitian ini juga menunjukan bahwa fee based income (FBI) memoderasi hubungan risiko pembiayaan dengan profitabilitas (ROE) BUS. Penelitian ini memberikan implikasi dan rekomendasi bagi pembuat kebijakan di BUS agar meningkatkan kinerja keuangan dan memperbaiki manajemen risiko, serta meningkatkan aktivitas yang dapat menghasilkan fee based income.;---This study investigates the level of financing risk and profitability and the impact of financing risk on profitability of the Islamic banks in Indonesia which moderated by fee based income. The data for this study is obtained from the annual reports of Islamic banks in Indonesia in 2011-2015. The findings show that, on average, the financing risk which faced by Islamic banks in Indonesia period 2011-2015 is still normal, but the profitability is low. Using the linear regression and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA), the results of this study show that financing risk (measured by NPF) has an impact on the profitability (measured by ROA and ROE). This study also found that fee based income (FBI) has moderated the affecting of relationship between financing risk and profitability (ROE) in Islamic banks. The analysis reveals some policy implications for Islamic banks to improve their financial performance and risk management and also increase fee based activities to generate more fee based income.
