Komunikasi terapeutik adalah komunikasi yang direncanakan secara sadar, memiliki tujuan, kegiatannya difokuskan pada kesembuhan pasien dan merupakan komunikasi profesional yang dilakukan oleh perawat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui masalah yang terjadi pada lanjut usia, komunikasi terapeutik menggunakan dua arah, biasanya tenaga kesehatan khususnya perawat selalu berperan aktif dalam komunikasi terapeutik untuk mendapatkan informasi yang akurat, komunikasi terapeutik sebagai penyedia layanan kepada pasien. Dewasa ini banyaknya peningkatan praktik mahasiswa pada lanjut usia, dimana mahasiswa yang praktik masih jarang untuk melihat sejauhmana komunikasi terapeutik yang digunakan saat berkomunikasi dengan lanjut usia, dan sejauhmana pengetahuan mahasiswa tentang komunikasi terapeutik saat praktik pada lanjut usia, gambaran pengetahuan komunikasi terapeutik mahasiswa keperawatan dengan lanjut usia di Panti Sosial Tresna Wredha Budi Pertiwi Bandung, penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif, populasi mahasiswa yang sedang praktik yaitu 30 orang mahasiswa. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan total sampling dan sempel yang akan diteliti adalah mahasiswa yang sedang melakukan praktik keperawatan pada lanjut usia sebanyak 30 responden, teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen butir soal, dan dianalisis secara deskriptif dengan perhitungan distribusi frekuensi. Nilai reliabilitas 0,811. Dari hasil penelitian tentang pengetahuan komunikasi terapeutik mahasiswa keperawatan dengan lanjut usia sebagian kecil menunjukan baik sebesar (30%), sebagian besar responden menunjukan cukup yaitu (66,7%), dan sebagian kecil dari responden menjawab kurang pada pengetahuan komunikasi terapeutik pada lanjut usia yaitu (3,3%). Direkomendasikan kepada tempat penelitian agar selalu menggunakan komunikasi terapeutik saat mahasiswa praktik di Panti Sosial Tresna Wredha Budi Pertiwi Bandung untuk mengurangi miscommunication.;---Therapeutic communication is a consciously planned, purposeful, focused communication on the patient's healing and is a professional communication performed by the nurse. This study aims to determine the problems that occur in the elderly, therapeutic communication using two directions, usually health personnel, especially nurses that always play an active role in therapeutic communication to obtain accurate information, therapeutic communication as a service provider to patients. Nowadays the increasing number of students 'practice in the elderly, where practicing students are still rare to see how therapeutic communication is used when communicating with the elderly, and how far the students' knowledge of therapeutic communication during the practice of the elderly, the therapeutic communication knowledge of nursing students on the elderly in Social Institution Tresna Wredha Budi Pertiwi Bandung, this research use quantitative descriptive method, the number of practicing students population are 30 student. Sampling in this study using total sampling and sempel which will be studied are students who are doing nursing practice in the elderly as much as 30 respondents, data collection techniques using the instrument item, and analyzed descriptively with frequency distribution calculation. The reliability value 0.811. From the results of research on therapeutic communication knowledge of nursing students with elderly a small number shows good (30%), most respondents show good enough which is (66.7%), and a small part of the respondents answered less on therapeutic communication knowledge in the elderly (3.3%). It is recommended to the research site to always use therapeutic communication when the student practice at Tresna Wredha Budi Pertiwi Social Institution Bandung to reduce miscommunication.
