This study is motivated by the urgency the implementation of politeness in delivering speech, especially in society's social life. Politeness is a behavior which appear in case to respect people. Speech politeness is required in refining the speech and the language. The speech acts are conveyed well is the main purpose of both speaker and hearer. That aim can be achieved if both two parties follow the cooperative principles. The researcher chose movie as the media of analysis of speech politeness, because movie is strongly tied with the social life portrayal. The film is a French movie entitled "Ernest et Célestine". The purpose of this study is to present the result of speech politeness speech in the movie dialogue by using speech politeness strategies by Brown and Levinson (1987) and the contribution to education. The method of the study was qualitative descriptive method. The data collection was done by literature study, documentation, and observation. The result of this study shows that from 25 Ernest et Célestine's dialogue data which was analyzed, the 22 dialogue data are included into Positive Politeness and the rest 3 are Negative Politeness.----------Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penerapan kesantunan dalam bertutur, terutama di kehidupan sosial masyarakat. Kesantunan merupakan tingkah laku yang muncul untuk menghormati orang lain. Kesantunan bertutur diperlukan dalam tingkah laku untuk memperhalus tuturan atau bahasa. Pertuturan yang berlangsung dengan baik merupakan tujuan utama dari penutur dan lawan tutur. Tujuan tersebut bisa dicapai jika keduanya mematuhi prinsip kerjasama yang baik. Peneliti memilih film sebagai media analisis kesantunan bertutur, karena film sangat erat kaitannya dengan penggambaran kehidupan sosial. Film yang dipilih oleh peneliti adalah film Perancis berjudul Ernest et Célestine. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan hasil analisis kesantunan bertutur dalam dialog film Ernest et Célestine dengan menggunakan teori Brown dan Levinson (1987) dan kontribusinya pada bidang pendidikan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitan ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian ini yaitu dengan studi pustaka, dokumentasi, dan observasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 25 data dialog film Ernest et Célestine yang dianalisis, terbagi menjadi dua bagian yaitu 22 data dialog termasuk ke dalam kategori Kesantunan Positif dan 3 data dialog termasuk ke dalam kategori Kesantunan Negatif.
