Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal pada Istri TNI Angkatan Laut yang menjalin hubungan jarak jauh. Penggalian informasi dilakukan dengan menggunakan wawancara mendalam serta uji keabsahan data menggunakan member check. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada tiga orang istri TNI Angkatan Laut yang menjalin hubungan jarak jauh dengan suaminya. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan ketiga subjek cukup memiliki sikap keterbukaan, empati yang mendalam untuk memahami perasaan, situasi, dan kondisi pekerjaan pasangan. Meskipun sedang menjalani hubungan jarak jauh ketiga subjek juga dapat mendukung keputusan yang ditentukan pasangan, memiliki sikap positif terhadap pasangan dan dapat mengakui bahwa kedua belah pihak memiliki kepentingan. Hal tersebut disimpulkan bahwa ketiga subjek yang diteliti memiliki komunikasi interpersonal yang efektif ketika sedang menjalani hubungan jarak jauh Kata kunci: komunikasi interpersonal, TNI Angkatan Laut, hubungan jarak jauh. The purpose of the research is to know how the personal communication of the long distance relationship of indonesian navy's wife. The data of the research is taken by interview belongs to the three respondents and also the validity of the data by using the member check. the respondent of the research is the three indonesian navy's wives.the result is the three respondents have less of empathy and less openess to know their couple's feelings, situations, also their conditions. but the three respondents supported their couples, they had attention and the positive thingking. they also recognized that they have their own interests. therefore, it can be concluded that the respondents have less capability of the interpersonal communication.
