Penelitian ini berjudul "Metode Storytelling sebagai Stimulus untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Daya Imajinasi dalam Mendesain Komposisi Gerak Tari Siswa (Studi Eksperimen pada Siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 26 Bandung)". Pembelajaran seni tari pada dasarnya memiliki kompetensi yang harus dipenuhi dan dimiliki oleh setiap siswa. Kompetensi tersebut yaitu siswa diharuskan memiliki kemampuan dalam bergerak. Permasalahannya adalah siswa kesulitan dalam menghasilkan gerak dan kurangnya kompetensi berkarya tari, disinyalir masalah tersebut karena imajinasinya yang tidak berkembang. Peneliti mengambil permasalahan yang dirumuskan sebagai berikut: bagaimana kemampuan daya imajinasi dalam mendesain komposisi gerak tari sebelum diterapkan metode storytelling, bagaimana proses penerapan Metode Storytelling sebagai stimulus untuk meningkatkan kemampuan daya imajinasi dalam mendesain komposisi gerak tari, dan bagaimana hasil penerapan Metode Storytelling sebagai stimulus untuk meningkatkan kemampuan daya imajinasi dalam mendesain komposisi gerak tari. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memperoleh data mengenai pengaruh metode storytelling sebagai stimulus untuk meningkatkan kemampuan daya imajinasi dalam mendesain komposisi gerak tari siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 26 Bandung dan diharapkan melalui penerapan metode pembelajaran ini dapat dikembangkan pembelajaran yang lebih kreatif. Metode yang digunakan adalah Pre-Experimental dengan desain One-Group Pretest-Posttest. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh data pretest 68.55 menunjukan kemampuan siswa kurang, selanjutnya diperoleh data proses 76.85 menunjukan kemampuan siswa cukup baik dan data posttest 84.76 menunjukan kemampuan siswa baik. Dilihat dari perhitungan menggunakan uji t yaitu thitung > ttabel, dan hasilnya adalah 77.14 > 1.692, dapat disimpulkan metode storytelling sebagai stimulus gerak tari dapat meningkatkan kemampuan daya imajinasi dalam mendesain komposisi gerak tari siswa dengan peningkatan yang signifikan. -------- The title of this research paper is Storytelling Method as a Stimulus to Improve the Power of Imagination Ability within Designing Dance Movement Compositions of Student (Experimental Studies on Grade VII At SMP Negeri 26 Bandung). Basically, dance learning have competence that each student must posses. The competence is the student must have movement ability. The problems are the student have difficulty making motion and lack of competence in the work of dance, it is estimated that the problem is due to the power of the imagination that does not develop. Problems that researcher formulate are how the power of imagination ability within designing dance movement compositions before the storytelling method is applied, how the implementation process of storytelling method as a stimulus to improve the power of imagination ability within designing dance movement compositions, and how the implementation result of storyrelling method as a stimulus to improve the power of imagination ability within designing dance movement compositions. This research was conducted to obtain data about effect of storytelling method as a stimulus to improve the power of imagination ability within designing dance movement compositions of grade VII in SMP Negeri 26 Bandung and through this research, the learning is expected to be developed more creatively. The method used was pre-experiemntal with one-group pretest-posttest design. Based on the analysis result, retrieved pretest value data of 68.55, it means the student ability is lack. Subsequently obtained data from process of 76,85, it means the student ability is enough. The last, retrieved posttest value data of 84,76, it means the student ability is excellent. When viewed from the calculation using T-test is t count > t table the result is 77,14 > 1,692, can be concluded that storytelling method as a stimulus of dance movement can improve the Power of imagination ability within designing dance movement compositions of student with a significant increase.
