Summary:This research is a Classroom Action Research (PTK) entitled "Application of Discovery Learning Model to Increase Understanding of Scientific Concept of Grade Fifth of Primary School Students". This PTK aims to describe (1) the learning process by applying the discovery learning model to improve the understanding of scientific concept of grade fifth students in Elementary School; And (2) improvement of understanding of scientific concept of fifth grade elementary school students after the discovery learning model has been applied. Subjects in the research are 30 students of class V SDN Cibogo 207 Bandung. The research method used in this research is Research Class Action Kemmis and Mc model. Taggart starting from planning, execution, observation, and reflection then made improvement planning used in the next cycle. This research was conducted in two cycles. The data collection instruments are: 1) observation sheet of learning process; 2) field notes; And 3) test instrument. The observation sheet of the learning process serves to observe the learning process in order to collect the process data, the field notes function to record all the findings during the learning process taking place outside the focus of the findings contained in the observation sheet, and the test instrument used to obtain the students' After learning by applying the discovery learning model. The results showed the development of the learning process from cycle 1 to cycle 2 which resulted in increased understanding of student scientific concepts. The data shows that the improvement in understanding of the concept of IPA has initially increased significantly starting from 67% to 89% with completed criteria. The recommendation for the School Principal when implementing an understanding of the concept of IPA with the discovery learning model should be applying the discovery characteristic of exploring, focusing on students, and inter-combinatation of new-known knowledge and know knowledge. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang berjudul "Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Diskoveri untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep IPA Siswa Kelas V Sekolah Dasar". PTK ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) proses pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran diskoveri untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep IPA siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar; dan (2) peningkatan pemahaman konsep IPA siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran diskoveri. Subyek yang dikenakan tindakan yaitu 30 orang siswa kelas V SDN Cibogo 207 Bandung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart yang dimulai dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi kemudian dibuat perencanaan perbaikan yang digunakan dalam siklus selanjutnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebanyak dua siklus. Adapun instrumen pengumpulan data berupa: 1) lembar observasi proses pembelajaran; 2) catatan lapangan; dan 3) instrument tes. Lembar observasi proses pembelajaran berfungsi untuk mengamati proses pembelajaran dalam rangka mengumpulkan data proses, catatan lapangan berfungsi untuk mencatat seluruh temuan selama proses pembelajara berlangsung di luar focus-fokus temuan yang terdapat dalam lembar observasi, dan instrumen tes digunakan untuk memperoleh data kemampuan pemahaman konsep IPA siswa setelah pembelajaran dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran diskoveri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terjadinya perkembangan proses pembelajaran dari siklus 1 ke siklus 2 yang mengakibatkan peningkatan pemahaman konsep IPA siswa. Data menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan pemahaman konsep IPA awalnya 67% menjadi 89% dengan kriteria tuntas. Adapun rekomendasi untuk Kepalas Sekolah ketika melaksanakan upaya peningkatan pemahaman konsep IPA dengan model pembelajaran diskoveri harus menerapkan karakteristik diskoveri yaitu mengeksplorasi, berpusat pada siswa, dan menggabungkan pengetahuan baru dan pengetahuan yang sudah ada. ----------
