Summary:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan tes two-tier multiple choice yang dapat mengukur penguasaan materi reaksi reduksi dan oksidasi pada siswa. Metode yang dikembangkan dalam penelitian ini adalah pengembangan dan validasi. Pengembangan intrumen tes dilakukan dengan dua tahapan, yaitu tahap pengembangan butir soal, dan tahap validasi. Tes yang dikembangkan terdiri dari stem pada butir soal yang berupa narasi dan dua tier pilihan jawaban, dengan tier pertama terdiri dari empat pilihan jawaban dan tier kedua terdiri dari empat pilihan jawaban. Tahap pertama untuk pengembangan butir soal tersebut didasarkan pada hasil tes dengan menggunakan soal essay, yang dilanjutkan dengan tahap validasi terdiri dari uji validitas berupa validitas isi dengan metode CVR dan validitas empiris dengan membandingkan antara kriteria yang berupa nilai korelasi product-moment dengan skor tes. Hasil dari uji validitas isi didapatkan 13 butir soal yang dinyatakan valid oleh validator, sedangkan untuk uji validitas empiris menggunakan Microsoft Excel diperoleh 10 butir soal yang dinyatakan valid. Berdasarkan uji reliabilitas butir soal dengan menggunakan SPSS, diperoleh 13 butir soal dengan nilai alpha Cronbach sebesar 0,616 yang termasuk katagori tinggi dan dapat diterima. Pada tahap validasi juga dilakukan analisis butir soal yang berupa daya pembeda, tingkat kesukaran dan indeks pengecoh. Berdasarkan uji daya pembeda butir soal menggunakan SPSS, diperoleh 6 butir soal sangat baik, 4 butir soal baik, 1 butir soal cukup, dan 3 butir soal kurang baik. Berdasarkan uji tingkat kesukaran butir soal menggunakan SPSS diperoleh 2 butir soal mudah, 6 butir soal sedang, dan 6 butir soal sukar. Berdasarkan analisis pengecoh pada setiap butir soal termasuk kategori baik. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian instrumen tes two-tier, persentase penguasaan materi yang diraih siswa terhadap materi reaksi reduksi dan oksidasi adalah sebesar 38% yang termasuk kategori kurang sekali. Kata kunci: reaksi reduksi dan oksidasi, penguasaan materi, two-tier multiple choice   ABSTRACT This study was aimed to develop two-tier multiple choice test which can measure mastery of reduction and oxidation reaction materials it students. The method which was developed in this study was development and validation. Test instrument development was done through two stages, namely item development stage and validation stage. Test which was developed consisted of stem in narration item and two -tier answer choices, with first tier consisted of four answer choices and second tier consisted of four answer choices. The first stage for item development was based on test result by using essay test, followed by validation stage which was consisted of validity test in the form of content validity with CVR method and empirical validity by comparing between criteria of product-moment correlation value and test score. The result of content validity test obtained 13 items stated as valid by judgment, whereas for empirical validity study by using Microsoft Excel, it obtained 10 items stated as valid. Based on item reliability test by using SPSS, it obtained 13 items with alpha Cronbach value of 0.616 which was included in high category and can be accepted. Item validation was also done in validation stage namely distinguishing ability, level of difficulty and distraction index. Based on item distinguishing ability test by using SPSS, it was obtained that 6 items were very good, 4 items were good, 1 item were enough good, and 3 items were less good. Based on item difficulty level by using SPSS, it is obtained that 2 items were easy, 6 items were medium, and 6 items were difficult. Based on distraction analysis, all items were included in good category. Based on result test for two-tier test instrument, the percentage of students' materials mastery toward the topic of reaction reduction and oxidation was 38% which was included in very less good category.
