Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan penggunaan metode case based reasoning dan problem based learning terhadap creative problem solving skill (CPSS) siswa berdasarkan perbedaan wilayah sekolah. Penelitian ini merupakan studi eksperimen dengan desain penelitian faktorial 2x2. Sumber data diperoleh daridua kelas XI IPS di SMAN 15 Bandung yang berjumlah 63 siswa dan dua kelas di SMA N 1 Parongpong dengan 41 siswa. Setiap kelompok diberikan treatment yang berbeda dan dilanjutkanpostest. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan antara penggunaan kedua metode pada dua wilayah yang diuji. Metode CBR dan PBL sama-sama efektif dalam meningkatkan CPSS siswa tergantung pada faktor yang mempengaruhi seperti kemandirian belajar, lingkungan sosial dan kondisi sosio-ekonomi orangtua, Kata kunci: case based reasoning, problem based learning, creative problem solving skill, wilayah. This study aims to compare the use of case-based reasoning and problem based learning method towards creative problem solving skills (CPSS) students based on regional differences of the school. This research is a study of experiments with a 2 x 2 factorial design research. Sample research totaled 102 grade XI IPS originating from 4 classes 61 students in SMAN 15 Bandung and 41 students in SMA N 1 Parongpong. The two classes in each school is given a different treatment and posttes. The results showed there are differences between both methods. Both methods are equally effective in improving CPSS students depending on the factors that influence such as independence of learning, social environment and the parent's socio-economic condition.
