Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh kurang terserapnya lulusan SMK ke dunia industri yang disebabkan oleh keterbatasan lapangan pekerjaan dan ketatnya persaingan untuk masuk ke dunia industri. Berdasarkan Peraturan Pemerintah No 29 tahun 1990 idealnya lulusan SMK akan siap dan mampu menghadapi persaingan di dunia kerja atau berwirausaha sesuai dengan bidang keahliannya, artinya berwirausaha adalah alternatif yang dapat diambil peserta didik apabila kesulitan memasuki dunia industri. Berdasarkan data penelusuran alumni SMKN 8 Bandung tahun lulusan 2015/2016, jumlah peserta didik yang bekerja sesuai dengan bidang keahliannya lebih sedikit dibandingkan yang bekerja di luar bidang keahliannya, hal ini terjadi karena peserta didik tidak siap berwirausaha, atau peserta didik siap berwirausaha namun terkendala faktor lain. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui gambaran pelaksanaan praktik kerja industri peserta didik SMKN 8 Bandung, kemudian mengetahui gambaran kesiapan peserta didik dalam berwirausaha, dan mengetahui kontribusi praktik kerja industri terhadap kesiapan peserta didik dalam berwirausaha. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif analitik dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah kelas XI TSM, pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dengan skala likert. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, gambaran pelaksanaan praktik kerja industri termasuk ke dalam kategori baik, artinya lebih dari setengahnya peserta didik telah melaksanakan praktik kerja industri dengan baik sesuai dengan pedoman laporan praktik kerja industri. Gambaran kesiapan peserta didik dalam berwirausaha termasuk ke dalam kategori baik, artinya lebih dari setengahnya peserta didik siap dalam berwirausaha. Terdapat hubungan atau korelasi antara praktik kerja industri dengan kesiapan berwirausaha, pada tingkat hubungan termasuk kategori cukup kuat. Pelaksanaan praktik kerja industri mempunyai kontribusi yang signifikan terhadap kesiapan peserta didik dalam berwirausaha.---------- This research is based on the lack of absorption of SMK graduates to the industrial world due to limited employment and tight competition to enter the industrial world. Based on Government Regulation No. 29 in 1990, ideally SMK graduates will be ready and able to face competition in the world of work or entrepreneurship corresponding to the field of expertise, meaning that entrepreneurship is an alternative that can be taken when students have difficulties entering the industry. Based on the data of SMKN 8 Bandung graduates on 2015/2016, the number of students who work in accordance with their field of expertise is less than those who work outside the field of expertise, this happens as a result of students that are not ready to be entrepreneurs, or students find obstacles that detain them to be entrepreneurs. The purpose of this research is to determine the description of the industrial work practices implementation of SMKN 8 Bandung students, then obtain the image of students' readiness in entrepreneurship and the contribution of industrial work practices to the readiness of students in entrepreneurship. The research method used is descriptive analytic method with quantitative approach. The population of this research is class XI TSM, sample-collecting used is simple random sampling technique. The technique of collecting data used is questionnaire with likert scale. Based on the result of this research, the description of industrial work practices implementation is categorized good, meaning that more than half of students have been carrying out a good industry work practices in accordance with the guidelines of industrial work practices report. The picture of students' readinessfor entrepreneurship is categorized good as well, meaning more than half of students are ready in entrepreneurship. There is a correlation between industrial work practices with entrepreneurial readiness that is categorized in strong correlation level. The implementation of industrial work practices has a significant contribution to the students' readiness in entrepreneurship.
