Summary:The purpose of the research presented was to determine whether increased mathematical communication skills of students who received the learning by using cooperative model and Teams Games Tournament (TGT) type higher than students who received direct instruction. The research method used was quasi-experimental with class VII student population is one of the junior high school in Bandung, while the sample is a class VII-A as an experimental class and class VII-B as the control class. The study design used is non equivalent control group. Discussion used in this study is up flat triangle. The instrument used was a mathematical instrument test communication skills. The results showed that the increase in mathematical communication skills of students receiced the learning by using cooperative model and teams games tournament type higher than students who received direct instruction. Keywords: cooperative learning teams tournament games, mathematical communication skills. Tujuan dari penelian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model kooperatif tipe Teams Games Tournament (TGT) lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran langsung. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan populasinya adalah siswa kelas VII salah satu SMP di Bandung, sedangkan sampelnya adalah kelas VII-A sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VII-B sebagai kelas kontrol. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah kelompok kontrol non ekuivalen. Bahasan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah bangun datar segitiga. Instrumen yang dipakai adalah instrumen tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan model kooperatif tipe teams games tournament lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran langsung. Kata kunci: pembelajaran kooperatif tipe teams games tournament, kemampuan komunikasi matematis.
