Summary: | This research is conducted due to the fact that second grade students' writing skill is still low. It can be seen from students' work that does not consider the rules of writing such as spelling, use of dots and commas, use of capital letter, and lots more. In addition students are still having difficulty when pouring their ideas on writing. This research is aimed to 1) describe the implementation of example non example learning model in improving second grade students' writing skill; and 2) describe the improvement of second grade students' writing skill in example-non example learning model implementation. The method used in this research is classroom action research by adopting model developed by Kemmis and Taggart which are conducted in three cycles. Result of study conducted in cycle I showed that percentage of students' writing skill score is 47%, then it is improved to 77% in cycle II, and in cycle III it is improved to 93%. This result is achieved because example non example learning model helps students to make a good writing by giving them examples. From the result above, it can be concluded that example non example learning model is able to improve second grade students' writing skill.---- Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi rendahnya keterampilan menulis siswa kelas II sekolah dasar. Hal tersebut terlihat dari tulisan siswa yang belum memperhatikan ejaan yang baik dan benar, penempatan tanda titik dan koma, penempatan huruf kapital kurang diperhatikan, dan juga masih belum semua siswa mengerti tentang tata cara penulisan yang baik. Selain itu siswa masih mengalami kesulitan ketika menuangkan gagasannya pada tulisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran example non example dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis siswa sekolah dasar dan mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan menulis dengan menggunkan model pembelajaran example non example. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas, dengan mengadopasi model Kemmis dan Taggart yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Hasil penelitian keterampilan menulis yang dilakukan pada siklus I sebesar 47%, pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan menjadi 77% dan pada siklus III mengalami peningkatan menjadi 93%. Hal tersebut dikarenakan model example non example merupakan model pembelajaran yang dapat membantu siswa dalam menulis dengan baik karena adanya pemberian contoh. Dari hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran example non example dapat meningkatakan keterampilan menulis siswa kelas II sekolah dasar. |
