Cadangan premi adalah sejumlah uang yang dikumpulkan oleh perusahaan asuransi yang diperoleh dari selisih nilai santunan dan nilai tunai pembayaran pada suatu waktu pertanggungan sebagai persiapan pembayaran klaim. Cadangan premi harus secara bijak dikelola oleh perusahaan asuransi agar tidak terjadi kerugian di kemudian hari apabila jumlah klaim yang diajukan oleh tertanggung melebihi jumlah klaim yang telah diprediksi. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan perhitungan yang tepat untuk menentukan besar cadangan premi. Salah satu jenis dari cadangan premi adalah cadangan prospektif dimana perhitungannya didasarkan pada nilai sekarang dari semua pengeluaran pada waktu yang akan datang dikurangi dengan nilai sekarang total pendapatan pada waktu yang akan datang untuk setiap pemegang polis. Salah satu metode yang menggunakan konsep cadangan prospektif adalah Metode Zillmer, metode ini menggunakan premi kotor sebagai dasar perhitungan dengan memperhitungkan biaya operasional perusahaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan program komputer excel visual basic for application (VBA) yang dirancang untuk membentuk sebuah program aplikasi perhitungan cadangan premi. Program ini dapat digunakan sebagai alat bantu perhitungan cadangan premi asuransi jiwa sehingga akan mengefisienkan waktu dan tenaga yang diperlukan dalam perhitungan.;---Premium reserve is some of money that collected by insurance company, obtained from the difference of benefits value and cash value insurance payment at one time preparations for the claim's payment. Premium reserve must be wisely managed by the insurance company in order to avoid losses at a later time if the number of claims that submitted by the insured is bigger than the predicted claims. Therefore required a precise calculation to determine the magnitude of premium reserve. One of type of premium reserve is a prospective reserve where the calculation is based on the difference of the present value of all future expenditures and the present value of total future earnings for each policyholder. One method that uses the concept of prospective reserve is Zillmer Method, this method uses gross premium as the basic of calculation by taking into account the company's operating costs. This study uses a computer program excel visual basic for application (VBA) designed to form a premium calculation application program. This program can be used as a tool to calculate the reserve of life insurance premium so that will make time and energy efficient.
