Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematis siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika dengan materi operasi hitung campuran. Hal ini disebabkan oleh metode yang diterapkan oleh guru masih konvesional hanya terbatas pada ceramah, tidak disertai teknik dan media menunjang. Salah satu metode yang dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa adalah pendekatan Realistic Mathematic Education (RME). Penelitian ini pertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis pada materi operasi hitung siswa kelas II SDN Sukagalih 1 kota Bandung yang meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan hasil belajar siswa. metode penelitina yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) model spiral Kemmia dan Mc. Taggart. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas II yang berjumlah 30 orang siswa. Alat pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah pedoman observasi untuk menjaring data yang bersifat kualitatif dan tes akhir siklus yang bersifat kuantitatif. Pengolahan data kualitatif dilakukan dengan cara reduksi data, klasifikasi data, display data dan interprestasi data. Sedangkan pengolahan data kuantitatif dilakukan dengan cara menghitung rata-rata nilai siswa dan menghitung persentase ketuntasan belajar siswa. berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan penerapan pendekatan RME menunjukan peningkatan pada setiap siklusnya. Nilai rata-rata siswa pada pra siklus adalah 59,35 dengan ketuntasan sebesar 30%. Pada siklus I nilai rata-rata siswa meningkat menjadi 78,7% dengan ketuntasan sebesar 77% dan pada silkus II nilai rata-rata 91,93 dengan ketuntasan sebesar 100%. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan RME dapat meningkatkan kemampuam pemahaman konsep siswa kelas II sekolah dasar dalam materi operasi hitung campuran. Diharapkan dalam penerapan RME agar rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran dapat disusun dengan baik berdasarkan prinsip RME dengan menggunakan media yang menunjang. Penggunaan RME dapat diterapkan tidak hanya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis pada materi operasi hitung campuran namun dapat diterapkan pada materi lainnya. ;---This research is motivated by the low understanding of the mathematical concepts of students in mathematics subjects with mixed computational materials. This is caused by the method applied by the teacher is still conventional only limited to lectures, not accompanied by techniques and media that support. One method that can be applied to improve students' conceptual understanding is the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach. This study aims to improve the ability of understanding mathematical concepts on the subject matter of class II SDN Sukagalih 1 Bandung, which covers; the planning, implementation and student learning outcomes. research method used in this research is class action research (PTK) Spiral Model Kemmis and Mc. Taggart. The subjects of this study were the students of class II which amounted to 30 people consisting of 20 men and 10 female students. The data collection tool used is the observation guidelines for capturing qualitative data and end-of-cycle tests that are quantitative. Qualitative data processing is done by data reduction, data classification, data display and data interpretation. While the quantitative data processing is done by calculating the average value of students and calculate the percentage of students' learning mastery. based on the results of research with the application of Realistic Mathematic Education approach shows improvement in each cycle. The average value of students in the pre cycle was 59.35 with a thoroughness of 30%. In the first cycle the average score of students increased to 78.7% with a completeness of 77% and on the second cycle an average value of 91.93 with a 100% completeness. Based on this it can be concluded that the application of Realistic Mathematic Education approach can improve the comprehension of the concept of second grade students of SDN Sukagalih 1 in mixed count operation material. Is expacted in applying the RME approach so that the learning implementation plan can be properly arranged besed on the RME principle by using supporting media. The use of the RME approach can be applied not only to improve the understanding of mathematical concepts on mixed count material but can be applied to other materials.
