Dalam menjadi seorang guru professional, ada beberapa hal yang harus dikuasai oleh guru, salah satunya adalah kompetensi. Untuk mengetahui sejauh mana penguasaan guru tentang kompetensi maka pemerintah telah menerapkan Uji Kompetensi Guru (UKG). Hasil pengamatan dilapangan menunjukkan bahwa guru belum secara maksimal menguasai kompetensi. Beberapa faktor pun diyakini turut menjadi faktor penentu dalam kompetensi guru, diantaranya adalah kualifikasi akademik dan masa kerja. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menelaah secara sistematis kompetensi guru berdasarkan kualifikasi akademik dan masa kerja. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode ExPost Facto. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kabupaten Sikka, Nusa tenggara Timur pada 383 orang guru TK. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 25% dari jumlah populasi yaitu 96 orang guru TK. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan angket. Data yang diperoleh, dianalisis menggunakan uji nonparametric yaitu kruskall walis untuk mencari perbedaan kompetensi guru berdasarkan kualifikasi akademik dan korelasi spearman rank untuk mencari hubungan kompetensi guru dengan masa kerja. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan kompetensi guru berdasarkan kualifikasi akademik dan tidak ada hubungan antara kompetensi guru dengan masa kerja. Melihat hasil penelitian tersebut maka kompetensi guru TK di kabupaten Sikka dapat ditingkatkan dengan berbagai cara diantaranya adalah melalui pendidikan dan pelatihan yang melibatkan teknologi. To know the extent of the teacher's understanding of competence, the Government has implemented the Uji Kompetensi Guru (UKG). Field observations show that the teacher has not maximized competency. Some things are also believed to be a deciding factor in the competency of the teacher, including academic qualifications and years of service. This study was conducted to systematically study the competency of teachers based on academic qualifications and years of service. The method used in this study was the Ex Post Facto method. This study was conducted in Sikka district, East Nusa Tenggara in 383 kindergarten teachers. Sampling techniques in this study used Cluster Random Sampling techniques. The samples taken in this study were as much as 25% of the population number is 96 kindergarten teachers. The data collection techniques in this study used poll. The Data obtained, analyzed using a nonparametric test is crucial walis to look for differences in the competency of the teacher based on academic qualifications and the correlation of Spearman rank to find the relationship of teacher competency with the years of service. The results of this study show that there are differences in the competency of teachers based on academic qualifications and there is no relationship between the competency of the teacher and the years of service. Seeing the results of the study, the competence of kindergarten teachers in Sikka district can be improved in many ways including through education and training involving technology.
