Prestasi belajar merupakan penguasaan pengetahuan atau keterampilan yang dikembangkan kemudian di tunjukan dengan nilai atau angka. Prestasi berhubungan dengan kemandirian dan status ekonomi keluarga. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini bagaimanakah hubungan sikap kemandirian siswa dengan prestasi belajarnya ditinjau dari status ekonomi keluarga di MTs Negeri Garut". Tujuan penelitian untuk: (1) Mengungkapkan sikap kemandirian (2) Mengungkapkan prestasi belajar (3) mengetahui status ekonomi keluarga siswa (4) Menganalisa hubungan sikap kemandirian siswa dengan prestasi belajar ditinjau dari status ekonomi keluarganya di MTs Negeri Garut. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 1500 orang dengan sampel 172. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan angket serta dokumentasi HPA. Metode analisis deskriptif dengan cara kuantitatif. Sikap kemandirian siswa MTs Negeri Garut berada pada kategori sedang dan prestasi belajar siswa MTs dalam nilai IPS berada pada kategori sedang selanjutnya status ekonomi keluarga siswa tergolong pada kelompok ekonomi tinggi (kaya). Hubungan sikap kemandirian siswa dengan prestasi belajar secara bersama-sama memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan dengan status ekonomi keluarga. Dari hasil status ekonomi tinggi memiliki sikap kemandirian yang tinggi dengan prestasi yang baik sebab penyediaan sarana untuk mencapai prestasi lebih tersedia dan pada status ekonomi rendah kemandirian rendah dengan alasan pasrah terhadap keadaan dan sarana untuk mencapai pada prestasi yang lebih baik kurang menunjang.;-- Learning achievement is a measurement to know the success of one's learning and a goal for some students so that many ways will be done to reach the achievement and this will be related to student self-independence and socio-economic conditions in which factors will affect the achievement. Good socio-economic conditions will be able to provide maximum facilities, whereas independence can be influenced by socio-economic conditions. So the research problem in this study is how is the relations of students independence attitude with learning achievement in terms of economic status of families in MTs Negeri Garut". The objectives of the research are: (1) To reveal self-independence (2) to reveal learning achievement. (3) to know the economic status of the students 'families (4) Analyze the relationship of students' self-reliance with learning achievement in terms of the economic status of their family in MTs Negeri Garut. The study population amounted to 1500 people with a sample of 172. Methods of data collection using questionnaires and HPA documentation. Descriptive analysis method by quantitative means. Relationship attitude independence and achievement showed significant. The independence attitude of MTs Negeri Garut students is in the medium category and the students achievement of MTs in IPS score is in medium category and the economic status of the students' families belong to high economic. The relationship of student self-reliance with learning achievement together has a positive and significant relationship with family economic status. From the results of high economic status has a high attitude of independence and there are other factors that encourage the formation of independent attitudes and high the low value of achievement.
