Summary:Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan literasi matematis dan fakta rendahnya kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan literasi matematis siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan diterapkan model Brain Based Learning. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Non-Equivalen Group Desain. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh Sekolah Dasar yang ada di kelurahan Cicendo. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling, hingga diperoleh sebuah kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol di salah satu Sekolah Dasar di kelurahan Cicendo Kota Bandung. Pada kelas eksperimen siswa belajar dengan diterpakan model Brain Based Learning dan kelas kontrol belajar tanpa diterapkan model Brain Based Learning. Adapun data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan literasi matematis berupa soal cerita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis dengan diterapkan model Brain Based Learning lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang tanpa diterapkan model Brain Based Learning.;--- The research was based on the importance of mathematical literacy abilities and the fact the fifth grade student of elementary school had low ability of mathematical literacy. As for the purpose of this research is to know the increase of grade V elementary school mathematical literacy that had been applied by the Brain Based Learning model. The methods used in the research was experimental quasi with Non- Equivalen Group design. The population in this research is all elementary school which is in Cicendo Bandung City. Sampling is done by purposive sampling, up to gained an experimental class and control class in one of elementary school in Cicendo Bandung City. On the experimental class students learn with the Brain Based Learning model and the control class learn without the Brain Based Learning model. The research data was obtained through mathematical literacy ability test in the form of a story question. The results showed that the increased ability of mathematical literacy that being applied of the Brain Based Learning model was higher than students without being applied of the Brain Based Learning model.
