Summary: | Social adjustment merupakan kemampuan yang penting dimiliki siswa dengan beragam latar belakang status sosial ekonomi, namun terdapat fenomena siswa yang memiliki status sosial ekonomi rendah kesulitan menyesuaikan diri terhadap lingkungan sosial. Penelitian bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran empiris perbedaan social adjustment berdasarkan status sosial ekonomi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode komparatif dan desain survey. Penelitian ini dilakukan kepada 312 siswa kelas X di SMAN 6 Bandung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan social adjustment berada pada kategori tinggi dan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara social adjustment siswa yang berasal dari status sosial ekonomi atas, menengah maupun bawah. Rekomendasi penelitian ini ditujukan kepada guru bimbingan dan konseling dan penelitian selanjutnya. Kata kunci: Social adjustment, status sosial ekonomi, siswa. Differences of Social Adjustment in Schools Based on Socioeconomic Status (Comparative Study in 6 Senior High School, Academic Year 2018/2019) Social adjustment is an important ability that is had by all students with diverse backgrounds in socio-economic status, however there is a phenomenon of student with lower socio-economic status who have difficulty in adjusting themselves to social environment. The study aims was to obtain empirical data of social adjustment based on socio-economic status. The study uses a quantitative approach with comparative methods and survey design. The research was conducted on 312 students of class X at SMA Negeri 6 Bandung Academic Year 2018/2019. The result of the study indicate that social adjustment in general are in the high category and there is no significant difference between social adjustment students from upper, middle, and lower socio-economic status.The recommendations of this study were shown to the teacher of guidance and counseling and further research.
