Summary:This research is based on the commitment of the Purwakarta Regency government in promoting character education based on local wisdom as stipulated in the Regulations of the Regent No. 69/2015. This program is guided by 7 policies or seven days of special education. The unique thing is that the program that has been running for 5 years is not oriented towards strengthening the cognitive character of students as well as character education in schools in general, but rather emphasizing affective reinforcement through habituation aimed at strengthening the already available character curriculum. Thus, this makes researchers interested in examining the relevance of Purwakarta special programs in strengthening the character curriculum at Purwakarta I Public Middle School. The research method used is descriptive evaluative through a mixed method approach. There are four main research findings, among others; first, the relevance of the special Purwakarta program context in strengthening the character curriculum is quite relevant. By looking at the strengths and weaknesses of the program. Second, the relevance of Purwakarta program input is special in strengthening the character curriculum considered to be quite relevant because it is supported by teachers who meet the qualification standards and infrastructure that meets the standards and technical guidelines to support program implementation. Third, the relevance of the special Purwakarta program process in strengthening the character curriculum is considered quite relevant in strengthening local wisdom-based characters but needs to be improved in achieving the implementation process standards. Fourth, the relevance of the special Purwakarta program product is considered not yet relevant in strengthening the character curriculum based on local wisdom as seen from two aspects, among others; suitability of the implementation of the program which is assessed is still not implemented according to the applicable program rules and the results of the program have not had an optimal impact on changes in the character of students.
