Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh tingkat civic skills mahasiswa yang cenderung rendah seperti (1) tingkat partisipasi terhadap organisasi masih rendah; (2) prilaku mahasiswa kurang mementingkan kepentingan bersama. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini adalah (1) program-program apa yang diterapkan organisasi mahasiswa dalam upaya meningkatkan civic skills mahasiswa?. (2) hambatan-hambatan apa yang muncul dalam meningkatkan civic skills mahasiswa?, (3) upaya apa yang dilakukan organisasi mahasiswa dalam menganggulangi hambatan yang muncul dalam meningkatkan civic skills mahasiswa?. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, studi dokumentasi, studi literature. Lokasi penelitian di Jurusan Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan. Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) peran organisasi kemahasiswan dalam meningkatkan civic skills mahasiswa sangat besar; (2) hambatan-hambatan yang muncul dalam kegiatan pengembangan civic skills mahasiswa yakni; (a) sikap apatis mahasiswa; (b) masalah pendanaan organisasi; (c) kurangnya koordinasi dan dengan mahasiswa; (d) birokrasi instansi pemerintah; (e) serta bantuan operasional dari pihak terkait; (3) upaya yang dilakukan BEM HMCH dalam meningkatkan civic skills mahasiswa adalah; (a) meningkatkan komunikasi dengan mahasiswa; (b) menciptakan situasi kerja yang kondusif; (c). mengadakan rapat rutin; ; (d) menyelarasksan kegiatan yang dilakukan BEM HMCH dengan pihak-pihak yang memberikan bantuan; e). Menyusun ulang pola kaderisasi yang dapat meningkatkan partisipasi mahasiswa. Kata Kunci : Civic skills, organisasi kemahasiswaan, mahasiswa, This research is motivated by the level of civic skills of students who tend to be low as ( 1 ) the level of participation in the organization is low, ( 2 ) student behavior is less concerned with the common good. The research problem is ( 1 ) what programs are implemented in an effort to improve the student organization of civic skills of students ? . ( 2 ) any obstacles that arise in improving the civic skills of students ? , ( 3 ) what efforts were made to raise our student organizations obstacles that arise in improving the civic skills of students ? . This study used a qualitative approach to the case study method . Data was collected through interviews , observation , documentation studies , literature studies . Location of the study at the Department of Citizenship Education . The findings of this study were ( 1 ) the role of student organizations in improving the civic skills of students is very large , (2 ) the obstacles that arise in the development activities of the civic skills of students , namely: ( a) student apathy , (b ) the problem of funding the organization ; ( c ) lack of coordination and the student ; ( d ) bureaucratic government agencies ; ( e ) as well as operational assistance from related parties , (3 ) the efforts made by BEM HMCH in improving the civic skills of students are: ( a) improve communication with students ; ( b ) creates a situation conducive work ; ( c ) . hold regular meetings ; ( d ) harmonizing the activities carried out by BEM HMCH with parties who provide assistance ; e ) .
