ABSTRAK Skripsi ini berjudul "PERSIAPAN PADUAN SUARA MAHASISWA UNIVERSITAS PADJADJARAN PADA KOMPETISI 1st ASIA CHORAL GRAND PRIX FILIPINA 2019" Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaiman proses persiapan yang dilakukan oleh paduan suara mahasiswa Universitas padjadjaran dalam menghadapi kompetisi. Paduan suara mahasiswa Universitas Padjadjaran telah banyak meraih prestasi dan mengharumkan nama baik universitas, baik dalam maupun luar negeri juga menjadi acuan bagi paduan suara mahasiswa yang ada di Indonesia. Hal tersebut menjadi alasan peneliti untuk mengkaji. Adapun yang menjadi fokus penelitian antara lain pemilihan materi untuk kompetisi, pembentukan warna suara pada masing-masing kelompok suara sampai hasil evaluasi proses pelatihan yang dilaksanakan oleh paduan suara mahasiswa Universitas Padjadjaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu deskriptif analisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif sehingga hasil data yang disajikan berupa pemaparan dan bukan angka-angka. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian paduan suara Mahasiswa Universitas Padjadjaran melakukan pemilihan materi, pelatihan pembentukan warna suara pada anggota dan evaluasi terlaksna secara selektif dan terprogram dengan baik. Kata Kunci: Kompetisi, paduan suara. ABSTRACT This thesis entitled "THE PREPARATION OF COLLEGE STUDENTS CHOIR OF PADJADJARAN UNIVERSITY IN 1ST ASIA CHORAL GRAND PRIX COMPETITION PHILIPINES 2019". This study aims to discover how the preparation process carried out by the choir of Padjadjaran University students in facing the competition. Padjadjaran University student's choir has many achievement an uplift the honor of the University both locally and internationally. They also become a reference student choirs in Indonesia. This is the reason for the researchers to conduct the present study. Meanwhile, the focus of the research included the selection of materials for the competition, the formation of the vocal colors in each vocal group, and the result of the training evaluation which is conducted by the choir of Padjadjaran University Students. The method of research employed descriptive analysis by obtaining qualitative data which emphasize on description rather than numbers. The result showed that Padjadjaran University choir has selectively and well-programmed in selecting material, vocal colors training for members and evaluations. Keywords: Choral, Competition
