520 |a This study aimed to examine the ability of students' critical thinking skills in class X high school by the Guided Inquiry learning in improving subconcepts water pollution. The method used is pre Experimental Design (weak experimental design). Samples were students of class X Miia 1. The instruments used in the study is 12 essay critical thinking skills, and questionnaires. The results showed that the critical thinking skills of students through Guided Inquiry learning is high with an average of 0.74 NGain. In addition the average NGain on each subindikator critical thinking are also high at 0.71. The results of student questionnaire indicate that the inquiry Guided learning very motivating students to learn. Keywords: critical thinking, guided inquiry, water pollution. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA kelas X melalui pembelajaran Guided Inquiry pada subkonsep pencemaran air pada. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pre Experimental Design (weak experimental design). Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X MIIA 1. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu 12 soal essay kemampuan berpikir kritis, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui pembelajaran Guided Inquiry adalah tinggi dengan rata-rata NGain 0,74. Selain itu rata-rata NGain pada setiap subindikator berpikir kritis juga tinggi yaitu 0,71. Hasil angket siswa menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Guided Inquiri sangat memotivasi siswa untuk belajar.
