Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) merupakan suatu gangguan pada anak yang timbul pada masa perkembangan sebelum usia 7 tahun dengan ciri utama tidak mampu memusatkan perhatian, hiperaktif, dan impulsif (Buitelaar & Paternotte, 2010 hlm.10). Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan sosial anak ADHD, ditunjukkan dengan sering tidak merespon ketika dipanggil, belum dapat melaksanakan intruksi dengan baik, sering menyendiri dan tidak tertarik bermain dengan anak-anak lain. Secara umum, Penelitian ini membahas tentang bagaimana dampak aktivitas renang pada kemampuan sosial anak ADHD. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana profil kemampuan sosial anak ADHD, pelaksanaan renang pada anak ADHD, serta dampak dari aktivitas renang bagi kemampuan sosial anak ADHD. Metode penelitian yang digunakan pada adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus, penelitian ini menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara dengan satu subjek penelitian anak yang didiagnosa ADHD. Dari hasil penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa akivitas renang memberikan dampak positif pada kemampuan sosial anak ADHD: Melalui kegiatan renang anak dilatih untuk bisa menyesuaikan diri dengan lingkungan baru, memahami dan menjalankan intruksi dan berinteraksi sosial. Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ( ADHD ) is a disorder in children that arises in the period of development before the age of 7 years with the main characteristics of being unable to focus attention, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness (Buitelaar & Paternotte , 2010 p.10 ). P enelitian is dilatarbel a facing away by poor social skills of children with ADHD , is indicated with like often do not respond when called, has not been able to carry out the instructions properly, is often alone and are not interested in playing with other children. Generally, This study discusses how the impact of swimming activity on social abilities of children with ADHD . The purpose of this study was to determine how the profile of social skills of children with ADHD, implementation of swimming in children with ADHD, as well as the impact of the activity pool for ability social children with ADHD. Method are in use on is the qualitative approach with case study method , this research collection techniques are interviews with the one respondents. From the results of this study it can be seen that swimming activities have a positive impact on social abilities of ADHD children : Through swimming activities children are trained to be able to adjust to new environments, understand and carry out instructions and interact socially.
