Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi adanya permasalahan yang ditemukan di TK Nurul Iman, yaitu kemampuan pemahaman geometri anak yang belum muncul. Hal tersebut menjadi alasan yang mendasari rumusan masalah, yaitu (1) Bagaimana pemahaman geometri anak TK Nurul Iman sebelum digunakannya media manipulatif.?, (2) Bagaimana penerapan pemanfaatan media manipulatif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman geometri anak di TK Nurul Iman ?, (3) Bagaimana pemahaman geometri anak di TK Nurul Iman setelah digunakannya media manipulatif.?, dengan tujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang pemanfaatan media manipulative di TK Nurul Iman dalam meningkatkan pemahaman geometri anak. Metode yang digunakan adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Subjek penelitian anak kelompok B TK Nurul Iman yang berjumlah 15 orang anak. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis data Deskriftif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa melalui pemanfaatan media manipulative, kemampuan pemahaman geometri anak mengalami peningkatan dalam hal menyebutkan gambar bentuk geometri, mengambil gambar bentuk geometri sesuai instruksi guru, menyebutkan sambil menunjukan benda-benda nyata yang ada dilingkungan sekolah sesuai bentuk geometri, Anak membuat kumpulan bentuk geometri sesuai bentuk yang mereka buat, dan Anak dapat membuat bentuk geometri dengan sterofom, hal ini juga didukung oleh persentase peningkatan jumlah anak yang dikategorikan Sempurna (sesuai indikator dalam melakukan kegiatan) dimana hasilnya pada kegiatan siklus I jumlah anak yang dalam kategori sempurna sekitar 33,33%, kegiatan siklus II sebesar 60%, dan kegiatan siklus III sebesar 82,66%. Rekomendasi bagi guru yaitu Dalam upaya meningkatkan pemahaman geometri anak, hendaknya guru menggunakan media yang lebih bervariatif, sedangkan bagi peneliti selanjutnya diharapkan dapat mengadakan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang pembelajaran yang lebih baik di TK ,maupun tentang media-media atau metode- metode pembelajaran yang lebih baik. ABSTRACT The background of this research is the existence of the problems found in kindergarten Nurul Iman , the ability of understanding the geometry of a child who has not yet appeared . This is the reason underlying the formulation of the problem , namely ( 1 ) How does understanding the geometry of kindergarten children Nurul Iman before use manipulative media . ? , ( 2 ) How does the application of manipulative use of the media in improving the understanding of the geometry of a child in kindergarten Nurul Iman ? , ( 3 ) How understanding of the geometry of a child in kindergarten Nurul Iman after the use of manipulative media . ? , in order to obtain an overview of the use of manipulative media in kindergarten Nurul Iman in improving children's understanding of geometry . The method used was Classroom Action Research . Research subjects kindergarten children in group B Nurul Iman totaling 15 children . The technique of collecting data through observation , interviews , and documentation . Data analysis using descriptive qualitative data analysis techniques . The results showed that through the use of manipulative media , the ability of children to increase understanding of the geometry in terms of the geometry of the image states , take pictures of geometric shapes according to the instructions of teachers , said as he showed real objects that exist within the appropriate school geometry , the Child makes a collection of geometric shapes the shape they make , and the child can make geometric shapes with sterofom , it is also supported by the percentage increase in the number of children who are classified perfect ( according to the indicators of doing activities ) which results in the activities of the first cycle the number of children in the perfect category around 33.33 % , the second cycle activity by 60 % , and the activities of the third cycle of 82.66 % . Recommendations for teachers, in an effort to improve understanding of the geometry of the child , the teacher should use media that is more varied , whereas for further research are expected to conduct further research into better learning in kindergarten , as well as on the media or methods of learning better .
