520 |a Alternative conception is one of the problem often found in static fluid. Students' alternative conception can obstruct students understanding the concepts of physics further, so it must be known to be overcome. Therefore, the need for instrument that can diagnose alternative conceptions in students. The aim of this research was to develop Static Fluid Four-Tier (SFFT) diagnostic test to identify student's alternative conception. The development of a SFFT test practice as Desain Based Research (DBR) constitutes structure for this study. Participant consisted are 117 (whose ages were average of 16 years-old) from four Senior High School spread across Kuningan and Brebes. The quality of the SFFT diagnostic test instrument is reasonable with the raw variance explained by measures is 30.8% and the item reliability score is 0.92 which means it has the appropriate validity and high reliability categories. The results of the SFFT diagnostic test instrument application found 16 alternative conceptions. The highest alternative conception with the code KA-10 or "fluid pressure in a closed room is not continued in all directions with the same amount" that is 45.3%.
