Siswa juga cenderung pasif sehingga pembelajaran hanya bersifat satu arah. Proses pembelajaran harus selalu ditingkatkan dalam hal ini pembelajaran yang dilakukan siswa dan guru di dalam kelas harus lebih baik dan menyenangkan. Oleh sebab itu dibutuhkan perbaikan proses pembelajaran dengan menemukan pembelajaran yang tepat. Salah satu upaya untuk memperbaikinya adalah dengan diterapkan model pembelajaran Cooperative Learning tipe Make A Match. Dengan diterapkannya model pembelajaran ini diharapkan terjadi proses pembelajaran yang aktif, dapat bekerja sama, dan menyenangkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) yang terdiri dari tiga siklus yang setiap siklusnya memiliki beberapa tahap yaitu tahap perencanaan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap observasi, dan tahap refleksi. Untuk menunjang penelitian ini dibutuhkan beberapa format instrumen diantaranya yaitu lembar observasi rencana pembelajaran, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, lembar observasi kinerja guru, lembar wawancara, dan lembar hasil tes kemampuan konsep siswa. Pada hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Cooperative Learning tipe Make A Match dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa hal ini dapat ditunjukkan oleh hasil belajar siswa yang tuntas pada siklus I dengan nilai rata-rata siswa 66,33 (33,33%), pada siklus II dengan nilai rata-rata 76 (60%) dan pada siklus III dengan nilai rata-rata 87,33 (86,66%). This research was motivated by the results of observations of thematic learning on the subject of the diversity of ethnic groups and religions in my country, which was conducted in grade IV SDN Mekarharapan which indicated that the ability to understand concepts had not reached the KKM. The cause of this is thought to be less varied learning so that students are less motivated to learn and do not understand the material. Students also tend to be passive so that learning is only one way. The learning process must always be improved, in this case the learning carried out by students and teachers in the classroom must be better and more enjoyable. Therefore it is necessary to improve the learning process by finding the right learning. One of the efforts to improve it is to apply the Make A Match type of Cooperative Learning model. With the application of this learning model, it is hoped that an active, cooperative, and fun learning process will occur. This research uses the PTK (Classroom Action Research) method which consists of three cycles, each of which has several stages, namely the planning stage, the implementation stage, the observation stage, and the reflection stage. To support this research, several instrument formats are needed, including learning plan observation sheets, student activity observation sheets, teacher performance observation sheets, interview sheets, and student conceptual ability test results sheets. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of the Make A Match cooperative learning model can improve students' understanding of the concept.
