Latar belakang masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah banyak siswa kelas IV di salah satu SD di Ciseueruh yang tidak menguasai keterkaitan antara materi matematika untuk menyelesaikan masalah dalam matematika ataupun keterkaitan dengan masalah matematika pada kehidupan sehari - hari. Tujuan dari peneliatian ini untuk mencari tahu kemampuan koneksi matematis yang dimiliki siswa kelas IV dan faktor yang menyebakan kesulitan belajar siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal koneksi matematis. Subjek yang diambil pada penelitian ini berjumlah empat orang yang terdiri dari dua siswa laki - laki dan dua siswa perempuan. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatis berjenis studi kasus dengan instrumen berupa tes kemampuan koneksi matematis, wawancara secara semi terstuktur pada siswa dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa kemampuan koneksi matematis yang dimiliki siswa kelas IV pada materi KPK & FPB beragam terdapat dua subjek memiliki kemampuan koneksi matematis yang tinggi dan dua subjek yang memilki kemampuan koneksi matemati yang rendah. Faktor - faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan koneksi matematis yaitu terdapat dua, faktor internal berupa minat dan bakat siswa dan faktor eksternal berasal dari lingkungan siswa yaitu dukungan orangtua. The background of the problem in this study is that there are many fourth grade students in one of the elementary schools in Ciseueruh who do not master the relationship between mathematical material to solve problems in mathematics or the relationship with mathematical problems in everyday life. The purpose of this research is to find out the mathematical connection capabilities of the fourth grade students and the factors that cause students learning difficulties in solving mathematical connection problems. Subjects taken in this study amounted to four people consisting of two male students and two female students. The method used is a qualitative case study type method with instruments in the form of tests of mathematical connection ability, semi-structured interviews with students and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the mathematical connection ability possessed by grade IV students on the least common multiple and Great Common Division material is low. Factors that affect the ability of mathematical connections are there are two, internal factors in the form of students' interests and talents and external factors derived from the student environment, namely parental support.
